Does anyone with a jooda play football? not just like on the streets but on a team where you actually have to wear a helmet? My little brother just started playin on his highschool freshmen team and we're trying to figure out a way to keep his jooda in the helmet where he could actually take his helmet on and off multiple times during practices and not have to deal with the hair too much

is it really that vital that it needs to be kept in jooda form under the helmet? i have a few sardar friends that play on teams and they let their hair flow freely or tie it back with a rubber band. keeping it in a jooda would seem rather uncomfortable under a helmet.

sorry i phrased myself wrong its not vital to keep in a Jooda form under the helmet i just mean to say he has a jooda and extremely long hair so he cant just leave it open backward or anything

Tie it in a bun in the back with a patka on top.

the helmet goes pretty far down on the neck so i dont think a bun would work out since tht would obstruct the helmet even more

what i used to do was.....braid his hair at the back like, a gut, and just put a rubberband at the bottom so it doesnt open and if its extremely long, double it up and put a rubber band at the top so you basically got like a big loop......this way his helmet slides on and off and at the same time you dont gotta worry about his hair opening and/or getting in his face (that gets freakin annoying)

when my cousin used to wrestle in highschool he had to put on his headgear and what he did was just have two braids going one on the top right and top left of his head from the front to back, sorta like two big corn rows. and then on top of that he would put a bandana or i guess now underarmour cap so the braid wouldnt come apart. that seemed easy and quick to do as far as gettin ready before practice so maybe try that out

can just spread the hair on top/back of the head and put patka/bandana over it. after u brush it, spin it like u would with a regular jooda but jus kinda spread it on the top or back of the head like a spiral n then tie a patka or bandana to keep it in place

i have had friends who have done this and it works. basically tie your jooda really loose so its as flat as possible on your head. tie a patka really tight on top of that so all the hair is in your patka but not in 1 space like jooda would be but rather spread around. some peope even do this when they are tying a pugh.
i hope that makes sense.

comb your hair back and tie a very loose but flat jooda behind your head... then tightly tie a bandana or a patka over it, and make sure the end corner goes through the knot and tuck the sides in so no hair is visible

i nvr played football, but i race motocross and the most convenient way to keep my kesh under a helmet is to tie it super loose.
BARNALA SHAHI DASTAR PART 1
^the way the guy ties his kesh at 2:56 is basically wat i mean. i have a lot more kesh than the guy in the video, but its all about keeping ur kesh as loose as possible so when u tie ur patka it basically flattens and settles down. also, i found that its kinda hard takin a helmet off (at least a motorcycle helmet) when ur wearin a patkaor a bandana underneath because the material tends to stick to the helmet (esp after u sweat). i found that a doo-rag helps prevent this because its more slippery but i guess that depends on the helmet. hope this helps
