APD Bhangra 2011 Elite 8

I think its clear APD made some changes to their style to become more "traditional" than previous routines. But the changes looked somewhat odd mixed in with the more modern style APD has become known for. It is tough to say APD could have done anything different to win this competition because I think the judges just do not consider the APD/Empire style to be on par with the VCU or SGPD style. All they could do was execute the routine they had and hope for the best and I think that was done. Very in synch and it had the California flair from the early 2000s everyone knows. Ending stunt was crazy but for something like that to hit you gotta do it while the music is still playing. Finishing a stunt after the routine is over takes a lot away from the hype it could have had.

Oh my...as if 2 three level towers weren't enough.

Haha I remember when APD first did a 3 man tower, everyone was like omg and then joked around as if somebody would do 4 levels or whatever. I would piss my chadar if I had to go stand all the way at the top. That's at least what? 15 feet up?

APD was the only team that every had me speechless and on the edge of my seat. Their finale was the stuff of bhangra legends. Honestly, I'd never seen these guys dance before Elite and barely had any idea who they were. I'd heard about their towers, but nothing could have prepared me for what they brought to the stage on Saturday night. Sure, they were known before but now, they've definitely made a name for themselves as a true powerhouse, at least in my mind. The part with the blindfolds was really creative and fun. This team showed me that they wanted this. They left their hearts and souls on the stage and it absolutely showed. They moved like a true team and gave us the "Oh My God" moment we were all waiting for. Even the issue with the broken kato was dealt with really smoothly when it could have been a complete deal breaker (so much respect for the jodi that got has to wing it, that situation would have ruined a lesser man!)

Their stellar performance coupled with their sick vardiyan really set this team apart for me. Their performance is the one that sticks out the most in my mind. I'm officially a believer.

You just quoted a post where I said positive things about APD, as I have about every team I reviewed. Rather than saying "YO SICKEST PERFORMANCE EVER!!!" to every video I offer some good and bad in what I saw.
