This is a public discussion forum. When an insecure lunatic publicly makes a baseless and childish statement (though not unusual from said person), do we not reserve the right to defend ourselves publicly ? It's obviously a partial and unfair and biased forum when you deprive anybody that right.

If there's one thing that can be derived from Punjab's history (since there is so much talk of Punjabi culture here) , it's to stand up for yourself , your family , and your community. LEHLO ! nobody here will learn MORE about Punjabi culture outside of my statement. Bhangra might be a part of our culture, but not being PASSIVE is a far more significant part of our culture and heritage.
As an articulate human being , and a member of a public discussion board , I have an inherent right to RESPOND TO attacks against my team.

I DEMAND THAT OUR 'TRASH' POSTS BE REVEALED AND REMOVED FROM TRASH, SO THAT ALL WHO SPECTATE BTF CAN UNDERSTAND HOW CHILDISH FAIZAN IS , AND HOW UNPROVOKED HIS ATTACKS AGAINST US ARE ON OUR BEHALF

1) A simple request to the moderator's on why the thread was trashed would have sufficed. In the meantime, if you want to reply, reply to him directly

2) If you noticed, 2 different moderator's were acting on the thread (I was modding language and split the thread so it wouldn't affect the competitions PR). Another moderator trashed the thread thinking that I had meant to do so. In scenario's like this we send emails and confer on course of action so we don't trip over each other further. Since it is Saturday night the communication has been slow as you can imagine

3) you will notice that the "lunatic's...baseless and childish statement" is ALSO trashed. Therefore we are not picking sides but side-barring the thread until we can agree on what to do. What is clear is that the discussion is not constructive from either side in the current tone and context.

4) When you joined the forum, you agreed to a set of rules and regulations. By agreeing to these rules, you were allowed to join and post on the forum. You are given right of reply in so far as it doesn't run counter to the goals of the forum. The thread in question isn't particularly constructive. Both sides have arguments I think are worth exploring but based on the language it was clear that nothing was going to be discussed civilly (even if YOU might, it's clear others wouldn't, we had to moderate at least 2 posts for language).

5) As moderator's, we do our best to make sure that the rules/regs are followed and applied evenly. We have obviously made mistakes and we've always done our best to correct them. In this case I don't believe we have acted in an inappropriate manner in the short term by cutting off a discussion that is personal and disruptive for the competition. If you disagree, I again urge you to contact the moderator's so we may include your arguments in our discussion on what to do

Swi, let me jump in for a minute. Sonny, I can understand the anger toward the situation and the feeling that we are not allowing you to defend what is inherent: your team pride and identity, and truths FROM you. That being said, the portion of the thread that I trashed was filtered by Swi and left as a separate thread. I decided to "trash" it based on the following criteria:

1) The fact that Swi (moderator) filtered it from a prominent thread about a competition
2) The name of the thread "Nonsense" which represented the consolidated responses
3) The direct attention given to 1 BTF member which would turn from public discussion into public roasting, which goes against our statutes for operation
4) The job of the moderator to prevent such stimuli from "flaming"

By moving it to "Trash", that does not mean I think trash of your job and your duty to defend Virsa and any other organization that you are apart of! The location could have been renamed to "happy place", which, if I had moved the thread there, would have been quite ironic because no such happiness was taking place in that thread (punny? too soon? damn...)

Please understand what we did, and I hope this clears things up. If you want to speak more about this, please please message us. Thank you!

I briefly reviewed the thread moved to trash. I agree wholeheartedly with Nikhil and Swi.

The 'slanderous' post (i put it in quotes because i have no clue if it's true and dont want to know) was removed along with your team's vehement and violent response, therefore you cannot possibly say this is some injustice against you. We (moderators) make every effort to be fair, just, and expedient in our decisions, and believe me that is rather difficult.

In this situation, Faizan's volatile comment as well as several responses were marked as suspended and we'll take care of them.

Dude Hardeep. Stop. What you're saying is totally uncalled for in a forum like this. Stuff like that first of all does not need to be publicly announced. This thread has gone on long enough.

The reason for this thread is a never ending issue. If anyone has issues with anyone deal with it amongst yourselves and don't post it up for the community to read and listen to. As a college student, it's a common thing to associate groups of Indians with "drama." Why don't we try to finally fix that and take a step forward by not telling the world our problems and dealing with it yourselves. I don't have anything against any of the teams/people which this thread is based off of, but really guys? I know you guys aren't in high school. If someone has something to say, good or bad, say it directly to the person, stop posting it on BTF.

Moderators: As I'm sure you are aware stuff like this has gone on since the beginning of BTF. Although we may all be friends, if this continues you really need to just ban certain accounts once repetitive actions occur. For whoever falls under this category, if they really want to be on BTF and participate then they should know one more slip up means they're off. Please send out ONE massive warning for stuff like this and after that just ban.
