AVAP 3 Registration Packet!

Dear Prospective Teams:

The Apna Virsa Apna Punjab (AVAP) executive committee is extremely excited to exhibit some of the best bhangra teams from across North America!

This year's competition will be held on April 4, 2009, and will take place at The Landmark Theater in Richmond, Virginia. AVAP will feature two categories: Live and Music. Our early registration deadline is December 21, 2008 and our regular deadline is January 30, 2009.

Apna Virsa Apna Punjab?s vision is to bring together teams from around the U.S. and Canada to celebrate the vibrant culture of Punjab through the performance of Punjabi dances. Every year we highlight a charitable organization and donate proceeds to their efforts. More details on this year's charity coming soon.

While our website will not be complete for another week or so, we wanted to at least get the registration packet out on BTF. We believe this show will be our best yet, and we thank everyone who has supported us so far. Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Can you explain the difference between early reg. and late? Does early registration mean that is when you will begin to review applicants, or does it mean no late fee?

We will not pick/review teams until regular registration closes on January 30, 2009. If a team applies during the early period and gets into the competition, they will get special benefits during the competition. This is to encourage early applying, and reduces processing time for us towards the end of the registration period. There is no late fee for applying after the early registration deadline.

With early registration you get to pick the lineup # at the mixer meaning you get to choose if u wanna go 1st, 5th, 8th, etc. for the comp...thats how it was last year.
