Good evening all,
We have tried to work with POL community but our efforts seem to be in vain. I just want to clear up some issues regarding MSU's invitation to BOB.
We are very proud of them for an excellent performance, and we wish them nothing but success for the future. We hope to see them next year as well.
We felt it necessary to state that once our communication and relationship with BOB faltered, all teams that placed would not have been able to go to BOB through our competition. MSU Girls did exceptionally well, however their success in Richmond was not officially recognized by BOB b/c the bid was revoked. Therefore, the MSU team earned their bid via newer criteria that was not brought to our attention at all.
We DO NOT own any team; we DO NOT own MSU Girls. However, we do own the right to speak of false statements and raise awareness so that we may protect our reputation. They chose to go to BOB on their own earned rights, and it was respected by our committee. Again, we are very proud of them.
Another issue that has not been understood was the inability to secure a finalized line-up. When you throw a competition, and cater to the teams, you give them the freedom and option of doing what is best for themselves. Communication with several of the Canadian teams proved to be difficult, because those teams experienced difficulty in committing to our event 100% (Nachdi Jawani, Born to Bhangra, Abbotsford). Those organizations are more than welcome to apply to our competition next year, for we do not penalize them or think ill of thier inability to commit. These things happen, and for a committee to control what a team wants to do is not possible, if you put the team's wishes first. Rutgers and Aan Punjab Di unfortunately were experiencing issues personal to their teams respectively, and in some cases the health of their dancers was unacceptable to their standards, thereby forcing them to pull out of the competition. In life, health and safety come first. If people are not able to feel 100 percent, than rehealing and becoming healthy is more of a priority than a dance competition. We hope everyone is better now, and we look forward to seeing your applications for next year.
We pride ourselves in understanding what teams want at a competition, and we believe we had great success this year. We welcome ALL feedback to improve our competition, and have put faith in this new forum board.
