Sorry for the discrepancy. It has been updated.faizan said:not sure if anyone has bought this up, but the website says "virsa our tradition" under the judges. What does that mean? How many people are judging? Are the names going to be released?
Seems strange that a team would judge a comp and not actual judges...
also, can we buy tix at the door? How much will they cost at the door as opposed to now...thanks in advance and goodluck to all the teams and the organizers!
just random question popped up my mind after reading this is that how can u state that virsa don't have much experience? Don't take it as offense its just a question i want to ask you. Virsa was formed with highly skilled dancers a long time ago in 2006, most probably same year you got in AEG as it shows in your btf profile. If I am not wrong , i think "bhangra genius" youtube channel is yours (correct me if i am wrong). I like your crticisms in those videos, even though most of times i barely agree with you, well may be of different taste. So if You can criticise other teams, apparently judging them in your own way, why couldn't virsa? I am not against you, I watch your vids but just curious to know if your approach towards virsa jugding is hypocritcial or something else. Even though, judging panel hasn't be released yet, i still think that senior members of virsa do have potential to jugde, at least their own comp.faizan said:That makes sense, but i'm pretty sure they don't have much experience judging between them. Just because a group of people knows what they want to see, doesn't mean they can judge. Judging is a skill that requires experience, not mere opinions. Will they have feedback? It may turn into Virsa vs. their own teams that they invited. This could get messy without transparency and tact.

saw the panel, and it isnt a panel of virsa dancers. its a panel of experienced judges and i believe one senior member of the virsa team. it seems like the virsa member may be transitioning into judging, and i feel that having him judge a competition with 4 (i think) other judges that have been around the judging circuit for a minute is the safest way to do it.faizan said:just random question popped up my mind after reading this is that how can u state that virsa don't have much experience? kirpaal, congrats on your first post ever!
i am saying they don't have experience judging, not experience dancing. next time, make some sense when you try and speak on something...i am not a bhangra judge, so there is no comparison. this is not a personal attack on anyone on virsa, or bab. i am very supporting of bab, and i appreciate virsa's efforts to keep bringing a quality competition to nyc. i am questioning their judging credentials. that's it. you could dance for 10 years, that doesn't mean ur a good judge. it's a week before the competition, at this point, releasing the panel is irrelevant anyway...
LMAO! thanks bro, really appreciatedfaizan said:just random question popped up my mind after reading this is that how can u state that virsa don't have much experience?
