Lol @ people joking about moving to Canada.
The Canadian health care system isn't that much better. I mean sure you can get a simple check up for free but when it comes to serious business its a bitch.
My fiance is Canadian but goes to school with me in the U.S. She had to the hospital here in the U.S.A. and they gave her every test and treatment. It was expensive but worth it.
She than went to Canada's hospital a day later to see if Canadians would possibly do more testing for free. They literally said 'You have a headache, go home you'll be fine'. They eventually yelled at my fiance and her mom saying that there is nothing they can do. Essentially they refused to carry out testing at all. Clearly they don't want to spend money on testing if patients are not pay up. That is a big draw back. She ended up going to a family Doctor and the family Doctor actually did a much better job than the god damn Canadian Hospital.
Fuck Michael Moore and his Sicko BS. Any sort of radically biased documentary is so inaccurate yet people eat that shit up.
Bitches.
Kamran, I understand where you're coming from. Yes, it can be extremely frustrating to try to get testing and treatment in Canada. I know because I've had to wait in those lines, too. Private consultation is often a necessary route. But the ones who are most frustrated with the flaws in the system are usually the ones who can afford paying for healthcare. Most people do not have this luxury, and so I imagine they would be happier to receive whatever they can through the system... rather than nothing at all.
The truth is that Canadians on the whole are pretty satisfied with their system. The same cannot be said for Americans.
Healthcare is just one of the few reasons I prefer Canada.
I apologize if I have offended in any way.
