When I moved to California last year, I thought i'd be in bhangra heaven. While I luckily got to enjoy a few comps, it's very sad to see how many have died and it's definitely bringing down the whole scene. I was at local bay area teams' practice this weekend and they were struggling to find comps to apply to... Teams need comps or else everything will die out
What can we as dancers/teams/judges do to help competitions survive? Help new competitions get established?
Let's address the issues and see if we can do something about it:
1. Money - Funding and sponsorships to host these competitions. I don't think most of us realize how expensive it is to host a good show. Organizers who have raised lots of money, maybe you can share wisdom and best practices
2. Attendance?
3. Behavior - Destructive team behavior at hotels and venues, violence, fighting
4. What else?
CONSTRUCTIVE CONVERSATION ONLY PLEASE 8)
