A very warm hello to the BTF community, BASS Queens formed last year and we have recently competed at our first ever Bhangra competition – Harbour City Bhangra 2016!

A big shout out to AGS Mavi (Gurbir) for a killer mix!

We were humbled to take out second place and overwhelmed with all the support and encouragement we received. It was an honour to share the stage with so many teams of such high calibre and experience. The competition was very tight this year.

Being a new team on the block, we know there is a lot of room for improvement and we would be extremely appreciative of any feedback you may have. We are aware that our stamina could be much better and our form drops because of this at various points.

Overall, we had a blast at our very first competition and The Bhangra Project did an awesome job at organising a memorable HCB2016 weekend.

We look forward to hearing your views on our performance, and a thank you in advance!

Re: BASS QUEENS @ Harbour City Bhangra 2016 [2ND PLACE] (VIDEO)

Congrats on The Placing and job well done for your debut performance!

Couple things that i would say:

- I really enjoyed your Mela at the beginning, only thing is if the the girl on the bottom left of the screen played her game on beat, it would have would have been nicer. Extremely minor detail there but it caught my eye.

- I thought that a lot of formations were very stagnant. Once the formation was made in each segment, the dancers stayed in that formation for too long. Creativity was lacking formation wise, especially in the saap segment where it started off well and then the next two songs were pretty much two lines.

- I also like the well gimmick, thought that was pretty cool.

- transitions arent a break and sometimes people would end a beat early and walk to the next transition to pick up a prop or drop one off. Make sure every transition is finished completely!

- I think the biggest thing that needs to be focused on is form and execution for the entire squad. People are doing moves and footwork verry different from each other. People are also shaking their elbows more rather than shaking their shoulders throughout the set. Some of the dancers are very robotic with some moves like faslaan rather than flowing with the moves. This is actually one of the things that i majorly noticed throughout the set. Fluidity is a big factor even with the powerful moves. There were small minor form issues here and there that if fixed would make a huge difference. I think that if the form aspect was heavily focused on and if sync with that form was worked on then that would really escalate you guys to an incredible group of dancers.

- You guys looked like you were having the time of your lives while you were performing which is something that is not teachable and is always a good sign. Overall i really liked it and it was awesome for your debut performance! I was certainly not at this level at my debut performance haha! But congrats once again and feel free to reach out if you guys have any questions or want a more detailed explanation!!

Thank you so much for the awesome feedback!! Really appreciate you taking your time out and we will definitely do our best to improve on the points you made. Execution, formations and transitions is definitely something we will strive to improve on.

Btw, post update - MIX LINK has been added. A big thanks to AGS Mavi from our BASS BOYZ for making such a fire mix.
