Bhangra Idols 2010 Placings/Results

Just got back from the competition/after party and had a great time! I had an awesome time watching all the teams but SGPD was the only team that made me go "whoa" or "omg that's crazy" at parts of their routine. Placings were dead on in my opinion, it could of been abc/abbotsford for either 2nd or 3rd but I knew SGPD had 1st place even if it was a close race.

Once again Idols threw an awesome competition and afterparty. Congrats to all the teams and can't wait for next year. =)

we only lost to sgpd by 1.25 so i don't no why people keep sayin they took first easy. not hating on sgpd they killed it not gnna lie they were soo graceful. but placing were all in between 5 point from 1st to 3rd.

I didn't say they took it easily. I knew it was a really close race between you guys and them. It's just in my opinion, SGPD had that extra umph to push them to first place.

ABC have been one of my favorite teams from the beginning. You had an amazing performance!

On behalf of Jawani Bhangra I wanted to thank the organizers for a fantastic competition and an amazing weekend. It was a pleasure to see old friends and make a lot of new ones. Congrats to all the placing teams!

I think there's a few things that the Idols organizers do really well that other organizers might not even be aware of...small things that make all the difference.

1. Advance notice of things. Idols organizers usually give the teams advance notice of goings on and/or changes which makes it much less stressful on the teams.

2. Smoooooooooooooooooth operations backstage. Thanks to their volunteers things ran fairly seamlessly backstage in my opinion on the day of the show both during the show and during the all loved "tech time".

3. For out of town teams a lot of stuff was provided (rides, hotels, meals, etc.) so that was nice.

4. Judges meeting in advance...gave our team a lot of time to fix up some stuff that we were unclear on and adjust our routine accordingly. A DVD of this meeting was also given out in case someone forgot something.

5. DVDs and scorecards given to team captains before we left the venue. This invaluable information helps SO much regardless of if you placed or not, and getting it right away leaves no doubt in my mind that nothing has been altered at all.

6. Judges were available at the afterparty and one of them even emailed me his opinions about our routine when I asked him. They are approachable judges and because nothing fishy happened they are more than open to discussing your team's performance. Much appreciated.

All in all a great comp, once again congrats to the placing teams and thanks so much to everyone who came out and helped us win the "Best Spirit Squad" award!

I AM HOPING TO FIND THEIR VIDEO ONLINE! Watched these kids live...they will grow up to be some AMAZING dancers...their nakhra was just ridiculous. The level of dancing these kids have is surprising.

the whole idols weekend was amazing - i can not tell you how spectacular of a show it was and how professional, helpful, and amazing raj sangha and the rest of the idols committee was...it was an absolutely awesome experience - so happy we went!
