had an un real time throughout the whole weekend. love my team. congrats to all the placing teams!! awesome meeting n chillin with all of you guys.

UNC was on another level. no question about 1st place.

give em consideration for elite. 3rd at vpd, 2nd at blowout (arguably could have been first), and now 1st at burgh. so clean, very talented, great mix of creative and folk. def the top co-ed team and maybe the hottest team out there right now.

Whats your point? Im sure these teams did something right to deserve their placings.

In the last two years 5/6 placing teams have come from the dc/metro/virginia/carolinas region. something to think about for the years to come...

More like 4/6 in the last 2 years, 7/9 in the last 3 years.

You forgot about AEG/NYC, they placed third at BIB5. Also, good job at listing pretty much the entire east coast where teams come from; I would assume that some of the teams coming to BIB5 from those regions do place.

FTFY.

I guess i should have said "vcu and east coast collegiate teams who draw their style from VCU" then..

i'm really just pointing out that style's dominance at burgh over the years, it's pretty simple...

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, your point is clearer now. I feel like each competition looks for something different, one of the things being whats on their judging rubric... this is "something for teams to think about for the years to come" when they apply to BIB.

Burgh was an insane weekend! Thanks to our great liaisons(Surya, Tiona, and Vivek) for a great experience.

I think we can also thank UNC bhangra for such great support, as well as CMU bhangra(brothers and sisters to us all) and the crew from Steel City(our peeps-in-law) for an extraordinary time.

Didn't see=
Cornell
Dcmpaa

DCBC=

Clean, but not a creative performance. I think your dancers didn't have the flair necessary to really hit parts of the routine hard. I think the overall tempo and pace of the set is fine, but the set needs to be perfect to hit hard. Some dancers were lacking in this, but it was overall a good set. The terrible towels were a good touch for the crowd!

AEG-

Lighting and miscues from the comp seemed to have done you in. We can all debate using the intro video to set-up, but its a moot point. I think a lot of the stops hurt you, from song stops to technical stops. Was the set creative= hell yeah. Look forward to seeing the complete set at boston. Definitely a crowd favorite, and a team that can always generate the hype wherever they go.

UVA= Some bigger mistakes hurt you guys, but doing the cat daddy and dougie back to back in a routine while keeping it folk is legit. Took a lot of risk, but for the most part handled it quite well. Definitely looking forward to seeing some strong performances from you guys. Also liked the new vardiyaan!

Drexel= Simpler routine that highlighted your strengths. Didn't like the majority of the slowdowns in the routine(think it took away). With a simpler routine, form and skill have to be a lot better than what it was. Had a large crowd following throughout. Cleaning a couple of things with form should improve the set immensely.

UNC= Was tremendously Clean. Well thought out set that had you thinking of what was coming next...then saw it executed. Deserved to win, and a team to watch out for. Every single dancer killed it. What else can be said.

I liked the fact the show ran on time, but the awards ceremony was anti-climactic(everyone had left at this point it seems). We had a lot of fun as a team, and thank you BIB for having us in the show!

Fair point that burgh probably favors a certain style, but that description of teams who've placed also applies to the majority of burgh's entire lineup over the past couple years, naturally increasing the east coasts chance of placing. Might be that burgh chooses that over other styles when picking their lineup...Part of it might be that a disproportionate amount of those east coast teams apply to burgh, which also makes sense. Just something to think about.
