Bhangra Pagh : Front Turla (Yankee/Shiv chand style)

As promised I will be posting a video in the next day or two after the two comps in texas. I will be tying paghs for Alamo City Bhangra this weekend at Bhangra Blitz :)

Video will contain instructions on:
1.What to starch with
2.How to starch
3.How to make the turla
4.How to stuff the turla
5 . Lastly the pagh

Also wanted to add this in : you can get two uses out of one starching depending the amount of sweat your members spew out and how nice and neat you fold them after dancing so keep that in mind when using stiffy

Now im not a pro at this but ill show yall what ive learned and what works best for me. Their will most definitely be some of you who can make a way better pagh than me and thats good, so I don't want anyone to be like wow his pagh isnt that nice . The turla will get better with practice so I also know that my turla looks differnt or not as good as shiv chands or yankee.

Hopefully yall will enjoy this and learn from it and since im done dancing I though I could teach people what ive learned and pass it on !! :)

heres the video ;D

It's kind sad to see that a lot of Bhangra teams come to a comp without having a pagg tier! Wicked stuff, Deepi! Btw, heard Micheals are running out of stiffy! lol

Awesome looking paggan Deepi! I'm sure this video will be a *very* valuable resource to bhangra teams, especially considering it will be English. If you can make the video using multiple angles (or at least pan the camera so it's easier to follow), that would be awesome.

Definitely would like to see another video on the starching process, because there is one that I can remember ever being made (featuring Jasmeet).

I would like everybody to know that my boy Deep here helped us out a lot with these sexy paggan at the Bhangra Blitz Competition. So shouts out to this man for passing the knowledge down to first year dancers like me and keeping Bhangra alive.

I personally find this turla style tucked too low. It's purely aesthetic and doesn't really matter honestly, nut I prefer it to be tucked a little more towards the top of the forehead. If you don't tuck towards the front enough when it's that low, it actually looks like it's behind the persons forehead and can look awkward to me. I like the aesthetic of the flat turla as an extension of the face (i.e. on top of the forehead) and I think it enhances head movements and nakhra. Some of that is sometimes lost with this style imo, but it may be more about what I'm used to seeing than any tangible difference

Again, this is isn't a "you shouldn't do it this way" comment at all, more variation is absolutely more interesting! Just wanted to give another viewpoint for people who are learning. Find your style and make it look good, that's all that matters!

oye deepi, i think stiffy works better on regular material paggs than these shiny looking ones.

Actually yankee veerji its the same ! It really is ... just that material sucks when you tie I have the worst time tieing a pagh with that material. I tied one on I forgot what team but I had to spray it down with water .. im really dissapointed with this video like it really sucks lol. imma leave it up for now but imma redo it cause I want people to see what I actually did during the comp cause the paghs +turle were beautiful. This video jusy makes me look like a crappy tierand I know 1000000 % im better then what I posted lol. Anyway hope this helps people

Video actually turned out to be hella nice, even though we had made it around 2 AM. Smh that turla took extremely long to dry; Thank god for blow dryers. Btw this was Deepi's first time tying a pagh after like months, so it wasn't that bad. Deep's paghs were nasty at Nasha & Blitz though! Alot of good things about Stiffy , used it for 2 Comps in 1 weekend and only had to starch once! Props to you man you were a great help, Thanks again!

I know you guys were short on time.
But from experience drying turlas with a blow dryer always bad idea. Best if you let them dry over night or something.
