An article I came across http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/jan/03/india-rape-violence-culture with a good summarizing excerpt:
Also it talks about (Yo! Yo!) Honey Singh (yo yo? really? ugh) and his cancelled concert after an uproar against some of his lyrics

What do you think of this? I don't generally believe violent video games lead to murder, so it's hard for me to think that bollywood movies lead to rape. But I do see the point that in hundreds of films, we see the same behavior of teasing (harassing) women, etc. It should also be noted this is prevalent in plenty of hollywood movies, american shows, even cartoons. So it's certainly not unique to Bollywood, though it may be more common given how almost every movie is a love story.
In Bollywood films, men routinely chase and harass women. As SA Aiyarpoints out in the Times of India, old-time villain Ranjeet did close to 100 rape scenes, "with the audience almost cheering him on". The message from Bollywood is almost always that if you harass a woman enough, "no matter how often she says no, she'll ultimately say yes".
