BTF looking for coders, we're shifting platforms

Part of our summer initiatives included moving the BTF platform to something newer and more powerful. We're getting started but we could always use help.

Everything is voluntary, so it's as much effort as you can give, and if you find yourself busy that's ok just let us know so we can adjust.

Until we really get started, it's hard to say what our coding stack is going to be like, but I can guess it'll include:

• php/css/html
• javascript
• perl/python scripting to handle media files on the server
• SQL
• platform-specifc language (depends on what our next platform uses)

I have experience in all these topics, but I'm not an expert on any of them. I learn things as projects need them, so if you're not totally comfortable that's ok as well. If you're interested and know how to code a bit that's all we need. I'll handle the heavy lifting, but need some help on smaller issues that pop up (testing/debug, code design, general ideas, scripts, etc).

Keep in mind if you're a cs/engineering student, you can list this as internship/job experience and put it on your resume.

I've put BTF tech work on my resume and frequently discussed it in interviews. In fact, showing a passion for tech outside of the classroom was a huge plus and got me a lot of opportunities because it showed passion in technologies, interest in tackling projects, and general coding expertise. Saleem is graduated from Cornell and then got an MBA at Michigan and now works as a senior product manager at Amazon. If you need recommendations or just want to pad that resume, this is actually a good opportunity
