I didn't want to clutter up the other topics/threads with just a list of song suggestions, so I thought this topic could be a central place to receive suggestions on songs that people on BTF want to hear remixed.

If you're suggesting only a few songs and the songs aren't in the Media Center, are hard to find/rare/old, and you have a high quality version of the songs it would be of big help to the mixers if you could attach them with your post/suggestion.

~ Basim :)

P.S. - Mods, feel free to edit this as necessary.

I went through a BUNCH of songs on my PC and looked for stuff that I loved to listen to (and wanted to hear good quality remixes of). Some of these might be "overdone" and if so, just skip them mixing ladder mods!

Attaullah Khan - Kameez Teri Kali
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Lal Meri Pat Rakhiyo (aka "Shahbaz Qalandar") (or Alam Lohar's version)
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Akhiyaan Udeek Diyan
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan - Sanu Ek Pal Chain
Arif Lohar - Jugni Ji (Dr. Zeus did an interesting remix to this, so don't jack concepts!)
Malkit Singh - Hey Jamalo (even though there are tons of remixes out there - would love to hear a unique take on it)
Mangal Singh - Saddi Rail Gaddi Ayi (if we're talking classics, how can we NOT include this song? Played at every traditional Punjabi wedding!)
Bally Sagoo - Jind Sadi Mang Ni
Gurdas Mann - Challa
K. Deep & Jagmohan Kaur - Baba Ve Kala Maror
K. Deep & Jagmohan Kaur - Bada Karara Pudna
Reshma - Akhian Nu Rehn De
Apna Sangeet - Aao Nachiye
Apna Sangeet - Mere Yaar Vajavey
Apna Sangeet - Soho Road
Daler Mehndi - Saade Dil Te Chhuriyan Chaliyan
Kailash Kher - Teri Deewani
Malkit Singh - Mithe Ganne
Malkit Singh - Naram Jehi
Mallika & Jyoti - Simmiye
Bob Kooner - Pind Mitran De
Surinder Kaur - Chan Kithan Guzari Raat Ve
Surinder Kaur & Prakash Kaur - Mawan Te Dhiyan Ral
Surinder Kaur & Prakash Kaur - Sarke Sarke Jandiye Mutiare Ni
Surinder Kaur & Prakash Kaur - Suhe Ve Cheere Walia

Bollywood (would love to hear these songs mixed in one way or another, just listing the movie & song for most):
Mumtaz - Dilwale dulhania le jayenge (Original Song)
Mohra - Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast
Bobby - Jhoot Bole Kauwa Kaate
Prem Rog - Yeh Galiyan Yeh Chaubara
Gadar - Main Nikla Gaddi Leke
Naya Daur - Ude Jab Jab Zulfen Teri
Aur Pyar Hogaya (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan ft. Udit Narayn & Anuradha Paudwal) - Koi Jane Koi Na Jaane
Jaanwar - Mera Yaar Dildar
Saajan - Dekha Hai Pehli Baar
Yaraana - Mera Piya Ghar Aaya

If you're looking for English stuff - I would love to hear any hit by some big stars like Madonna/Michael Jackson/etc. I can provide more suggestions on popular old school English songs if needed.

~ Basim :)

P.S. - Mods, let me know if you need mp3's of any of these songs (not sure if I have high quality versions of everything, but I could try to help track something down if needed).

Gurdas Mann - Challa
Would love to see a solid remix of this. A Gurdas Mann classic.

Gurdas Mann - Sajna Ve Sajna.
I've heard two or three good remixes of this classic, but would love to hear some more. I don't think anything tops the remix from the GCC @ Bhangra Wars 2012 mix, but I would love to see some attempts. Maybe someone can mix in Jeeti's version with Gurdas Mann's and see how that would sound.

Jeeti: http://youtu.be/DevS78nJQyk

Asa Singh Mastana - Kali Tere Gut

Would love to see a solid remix of this. I am not a big fan of the Bally Sagoo version.

Surinder Kaur - Hai Oh Mere Dadia Rabba

Musarrat Nazir - Mere Laung Gawacha

Bally Sagoo - Aaja Nachele

Malkit Singh - Bhangra Paun Nu Ji Karda

Malkit Singh - Jind Mahi

Amar Arshi - Aaja Ni aaja

I like a lot of the suggestions on Basim's list. I also have mp3s of all the songs I listed above. Feel free to PM me if you need a track :)

Really looking forward to week 2! Keep up the great work, mods 8)

Is there a theme for Week 3?
This week's challenge is a segment challenge. We're assigning songs and segments, and the goal is to make a mix that best exemplifies that segment (ie: we give out a jhoomer challenge, or a phumaniya challenge).

Please keep all song suggestions in this pinned thread so it's easy for the mixing mods to keep track of everything we suggest. Multani, I merged the duplicate topic you had created.

Thanks!

Suggestion:

Pick 20 for a week based on a theme/style, then vote with a poll. However many challenges there are, you assign the top song to the highest seed battle and go down.

Ex. 14 challenges, so top 14 songs used. Challenge between 1-2 rank gets most voted song(since everyone wanted it etc). The theme is jhoomer(or making a jhoomer) song(s).

This will just turn into that sad song thread thats 15 pages long and three years old if we just keep splurging songs.

You say that like it's a bad thing :p

Great idea, though. We'll look into implementing it for future rounds.
