Hi all - here's Cal Bhangra's performance from Big 10 Bhangra 2017!

Shoutouts to our liaisons and big 10 committee for making this as smooth of a weekend as possible! This comp was unreal especially for a first year competition, definitely encourage more teams to apply in the future. Will post an in depth review later!!

We'd appreciate any feedback. Also shoutout to cal alumni & SMD girls for all their help this weekend, and Richie for playing dhol with us! Hope you enjoy :)

I'm going to preface my comments with the fact that on a lot of levels you guys look very good, especially as a collegiate team. Energy was pretty solid (def. waned at the end, esp with dhamaal legs), and you guys have gotten cleaner and cleaner throughout the year. The most important issue I would say you guys have going forward is identity. Right now, you guys look like an above-average collegiate team. You need find ways to set yourselves apart-it could do with pace, traditional vs. modern or even how you work with the jodi dynamics (boy-boy & girl-girl jodi vs girl-boy jodi).
I think you guys def had a bunch of movement and formation changes, but the formations aren't memorable IMO. I feel like on paper they might have looked interesting/different, but on stage, it looks like spread formations with changes in who is in front/busting out. I'd work on looking at how the formations look to the audience-you could have made a formation that on paper looks like a pirate ship, but on stage looks like a blob-in which case its ineffective.
Also, some of your more inexperienced girls need wider legs on betke and stronger arms. Girls in general are solid, except they look weaker in prop segments (just nitpicking at this point).
Just my thoughts, like I said, you guys look solid and put out some great sets through the year!
