Can The Anti-Reposting Police Chill?

It's getting pretty depressing that everything I post is slammed as already been posted. I use the search function n nothing relevant shows up or nothing in a long time. N it gets pretty ridiculous the cases that are made to make me look like an a$$. AND the things that I have sinfully reposted HAVE been enjoyed and appreciated by people who have not seen them although they are obvious over-posts to some butt-sore people. I saw a thread start on headphones, and tore it open to see it, and would not have thought to search for such a thread myself as I am pretty frickin busy n he got shot down right away. He did a search too. And the original thread was like over 9 months old. It makes it very difficult to share info, ask questions or discuss topics when one is intimidated that everything has already been talked about and will only result in an insultful reference back to some archaic thread that won't show up in search. I can't wait till I'm a seasoned member so I get to join the jerk club. Why not shut BTF down and just call it BTA - Bhangra Teams Archives?

Don't worry about it-- post your thoughts if you have something to add. If it's a bad duplicate, it will be merged. We appreciate that you search before you post (even though it hasnt gotten anything for you). I've noticed the search algorithm for this site is more picky than google when it comes to words together... use fewer words in your search

ya the search thingy is not very "tolerant" with word usage lol...

and btf has some rude-*ss members so its hard enough to deal with some people being rude about points of view when u have to also beware of what u post...specially for the new people like me...

there should be a newbie subcategory for people who wanna ask freely and people who wanna help freely...

We get paid for every repost we report and get bonuses for how creatively we advise the OP to use the search function. The economy has been rough and we have quotas, ma'am. I'm sure you can understand - we have spouses, children and algoozey-players to support.

Please (please) report them by clicking the "report to moderator" link at the bottom of each post. Mods do not read every post, and this will help us coordinate our effort and perhaps give out a strike or bring the wrath of the banhammer

go to google
type in site, site:[insert website here] [what you are searching]

for example

site: bhangrateamsforum.com how to be a jatt and break peoples bones

should work better than the regular search function.

I'm sorry if you feel you are constantly beaten down by 'anti-repost police' but I know I've seen at least a thread or two where someone merely said 'been posted, here's link to topic' and you were really defensive after that

don't take it as an attack, the point of noting the repost is to merge the topics or give the OP further insight. In the case of a video there isn't much to do bu merge. But if someone is asking, "How do I tied paggs?" having them go through the 6 or 7 threads that already exists benefits them because people put effort into their posts (hopefully) and we want it to keep being useful.

So again, if someone notes the repost it's usually to help mods merge topics and create a richer thread that people can go back and engage in! And if anyone is an ass just report it to us and we'll be glad to review as Saleem said

I'm guilty of contributing to re-post topics against you I think but I remember kinell suggesting to search the youtube video link before posting it, it works way better than searching the actual video name. This only applies to reposting videos but still, and sorry if I offended you when I posted the picture for reposts in your thread a while back, I just finally got an opportunity to use it after it being used on me on another forum.

Hey Thanks Swi... I'll b mindful of my temper too.. but some of the reposting notes are a bit ultra-harsh so was a bit shocked to see ppl get so nasty so it made a bit of an impression on me that I'll make sure I shake off... simple mistake. was on you-tube and saw a vid on the side bar, clicked and laughed so hard n posted without thinking to search and then everyone had a free fest showing what an imbecile I was for reposting such an already over posted video. I got the URL thing now. So have been doing that first. Last video I posted, I searched both title and URL and got nothing back so went ahead and not only did I get a message from the Mod that it was already posted before, it was removed and no reference to where it had been posted before was put in place. but uff. whatever.. there's bigger issues in the world that should be worried about. It's all good. I'll just drop the issue. Not a biggie...

and not only did I get a message from the Mod that it was already posted before, it was removed and no reference to where it had been posted before was put in place.

Just as a sidenote, I'm pretty sure it was removed because it was in violation of our community standards. The point of noting it as a re-post was to explain that we were being consistent with policies. Since removed once, has to be removed again, that's all.

Ugly uncles groping and frenching aunties is just not pleasant or allowed on btf. Everyone can thank us later!
