The cavs are gonna bring this one home. I have yet to see lebron break a sweat this post season. An unstoppable force, and we all witnessed, prior to the return lashing today, that the lakers are capable of major chokage. Yao Ming out, even us laker haters thought it was the end of the series. and the Cavs >>>>>>> Rockets WITH Yao, and the Nuggets on their great days.

Also, i see Nuggets/Lakers in the west conf. going to 7... winning is up for grabs cause these "thugs" are bringing some heat loll. Mark Cuban's an idiot...

If the lakers play the cavs, cavs in five.

and thats if...
You think Cavs take 2 out of 3 in LA? No way.
If you think anyone is going to be cleveland at home in the playoffs...Its not happening.
I know LA is the only team to beat them during the regular season(full squad, going all out), but seriously they havent been challenged, they play teams that play good d(if not great team defense) and they are not only quick at the point(williams) but they have two hybrid guards on the floor at all times(williams and west) and they have Lebron run the point. Its one thing to guard LeBron off of the ball, its just going to take an inordinate amount of energy for 2-3 guys, let alone one, go up against lebron with the ball for a lot of time. Remember...he makes his team better when he has the ball because of his great passing ability and willingness to pass(even did it with game on the line, ask donyell marshall). The one thing people keep underestimating is Lebrons effect when he LEAVEs the game. His team is not only up undoubtedly when that happens, but he stays rested as his team plays great and scores a ton of points Do they feel pressure? not so much...because they know if they start getting in trouble, brown calls a T and brings in a fresh Lebron. Sure it might be a stretch to say the Cavs dont take two out of three, but didnt they get the best record in the nba and therefore get two at home, two away, and one at home?

Regardless, I am just going on the fact that Cleveland has steamrolled through the playoffs, and the Lakers have struggled when it comes to playing team d and taking care of opponents when they should.

Ill stick to it.

Cleveland will be tough to beat at home again but its not impossible, only way I can see it happening though is if a team suprises them in the first or second game, a game 6 or 7 in Cleveland would be harder to pull off for sure.

Cleveland will get challenged in the next round for sure. Orlando matches up well with them and Boston for some reason has some kind of playoff magic that can't be taken lightly. I think if Lakers can get out of the west they have a really good shot against the Cavs. I remember in the game in LA they did a great job of keeping him out of the paint and making him kick it out or take long jump shots. His jump shot is improved but there are always nights where he can be cold. One and one the Lakers do not have anyone strong enough to defend him. Shannon Brown might be interesting because he is big and athletic.

If it comes down to it Kobe and Lebron will cancel each other out and it will totally depend on the rest of the team. Lakers frontcourt is soft but skilled as hell and more than capable of putting up a ridiculous amount of points and rebounds between Pau, Lamar and Bynum. Cav's defense is off the charts though so far, it will be nice to see how they react to a Boston or Orlando next round, because I think a challenging series will help them. Part of the Lakers problem last year was they breezed into the finals and got bitch slapped by a hungrier Boston team.

Hell Denver creates matchup problems for both the Cavs and Lakers, if they are in the finals I can see them winning too. Should be an interesting month.

I agree on all points except for the fact that Kobe and Lebron cancel each other out. While I do think in terms of scoring and defensive capabilities they do, there are a few notable differences. Not only is Lebron a capable perimeter defender, but he is capable at great help defense in the post and getting 3-4 blocks a game on the defensive end. The thing with LA's bigs are that there greatest advantage, there flexibility and high lack of skill, could be negated by the fact that they themselves could be nullified by Lebron himself guarding them one-on-one. Someone who is 6'9 with almost insane athleticism and basketball iq could easily slow down the post presence of either Bynum or Gasol(I admit it far-fetched, but I think Big Z and Varejo have some inadequacies in this department) when Kobe goes out of the game.

There also comes to one point I mentioned earlier, and that is Lebron helping each of his teammates out. Its not only that, but the teams that have consistently beaten the Cavs have played great team d(Spurs and Celtics) played him well as a team utilizing great switches, doubles, and stopping the penetration. Now its not only hard to do that, but you also have to guard a reinvigorated penetration and kick by lebron to either williams, west or scerzbiak(who somehow started posting people up?!?!).

Denver(I think your right with this) presents a more interesting case and certainly is a much better team right now to contend with the Cavs(who are the presumptive favorite in the East). They got a strong interior presence with Birdman and Nene(Both who are defensive and rebounding catalysts, a major plus) with a hybrid Anthony(essentially a lesser Lebron but with much better post play) and a good, solid scoring backcourt with billups and smith. If they stick to playing defense, and anthony doesnt hit playstation, they are title favorites, especially if smith plays consistent in the playoffs. There lack of discipline is what has killed them before, but they are really really good.

To beat the Cavs:
-let Lebron float the perimeter and rotate with doubles and a lot of hedges his way. His first step is critical and accounts for a majority of the teams points on kicks, takes, or free-throws.
-Attack inside: There old and unathletic down low(Ben Wallace is Iffy) unless they rotate lebron. If you can push, your going to force Lebron to play a lot of help down low. Good slashing guards or athletic bigs can get Lebron into foul trouble, and if that fails, keep him pressing hard both ways
-Force the ball from Lebron: He likes to run the point, often with the ball and create for everyone. Let Mo Williams or Delonte West to dish as they are more hybrid guards

Should be an excellent playoffs
