Hi @Reeeeda! Thank you for your feedback regarding the judging lineup! We really do value all the input we have received thus far. Regarding the diversity, our intent is to have a judging panel of various ages, experience levels, backgrounds and genders. As you already pointed out, we do have some first-time judges on our panel; and agreeably, we believe some new judges will be valuable for the teams, the panel and the judge him/herself. A mix of judges can be very advantageous to the outcome of the competition!It's nice to see some fresh faces and first time judges. That said, I wish there was a bit more gender diversity in your selection. 5 judges and none of them are female? Not sure how you guys came to this decision, but if by chance it's becuase no females expressed interest, I think it would've been worth it to seek one or two out. There are plenty of qualified females to choose from, especially if the competitions mind is open to first-timers (which is why I'm confused as to why there's not even one in your judging lineup...)
did you receive any interest from females for judging? if you did, can you explain why you chose not to pick them?

It’s no problem providing an explanation on this! I think it definitely is an interesting topic to understand how judges are selected and what kind of applicants apply to various competitions.
You asked if we received any female applications:
We actually did in fact receive a few, but it was very minimal compared to the quantity of male applicants.
Your other question was why did we choose not to pick them:
To allow for some first-time (generally new) judges, we separated the applicants into 2 pools, experienced judges and newer judges. All the applicants in the newer judges category still get ranked by their qualifications. Same goes for the experienced judges – ranked by qualifications. It just happened to be that the very few female applications we received had less experience (even when ranked with other first-time judges) than some other applicants, simply put.
