Competition with a great charity

I'm starting a new competition whose proceeds will go to helping every bhangra dancer on the circuit learn proper english, as well as how to type on a computer.

It's easy to live our comfortable lives and forget that there are bhangra folk in well-off suburbs of NY, DC, SFbay, LA, Seattle, Houston, and Canada, who are simply incapable of using proper grammar due to their overexposure to MTV and underexposure to the real world (probably because they read the title "the Real World" too literally). It's a travesty, I know.

Though they have spent their lives in school and with access to computers, many posses a mental regression that inhibits their ability to articulate a thought, as well as the cognitive and motor ability to use proper grammar through a keyboard. This is a disease that must be stopped, and we should all band together to prevent it.

I don't have a name yet, any ideas?

But, as usual, I have a point to make. To purpose of language is to convey a message. As long as that message is understood by the vast majority of those on this forum, then I really don't see a huge problem. YES, I would love to see people use proper grammar and spelling in their posts, but people also come here to BTF have fun and chill out.

In my opinion, with the exception of a few rare posts, it's really not a huge deal if people don't start their sentences with a capital letter. Nonetheless, I still find this hilarious!!

Does everyone who drops a vowel need help? certainly not, some are typing on iphones and blackberries....mistakes and misspellings happen, no big deal. Sorry, everyone. I guess I crossed the line. I now realize that my comments above could certainly be construed as condescending, derogatory, or otherwise offensive. However, none of that dawned upon me as I was making the post. I only meant for it to be received as clever wordplay and pure jest, but certainly not at anyone's expense. Those "titles" are not at all representative of my opinions toward any BTF members. Furthermore, I would never ridicule those with real mental challenges. I have a friend in India who is autistic and other friends with various mental disabilities. I, myself, was diagnosed in 2006 with a certain mental deficiency, a fact that I hadn't shared with many people until now.

See, fine you talked about it amongst friends, cool, that's the place to do that kind of thing. However, when we all start acting like it's our duty in life and it's for the betterment of society and we have some self righteous feeling that we have to turn this fun and friendly forum into a place where we demand grammatical accuracy...then it becomes in issue. Why do we care so much if xyz person tAwKs lIk dIs? It's supposed to be a fun forum people!!

There is no reason it 'needs to be addressed' unless an individual is choosing to disrespect someone with their verbiage. Plain, and simple.

I think if you are trying to have real world experience you shouldn't be posting on this forum...People are just doing this for fun not for credentials of any sort. This forum is useless to anyone's life in the real world other than just to pass time. If people want to speak their dialect or use slang its not a problem at all. In the end, the only person who is polluting the forum and wasting time is the person who tries to bring up such minor details as a catastrophe. No offense man, but you got to loosen up.
