HELLOOOOO BTF! Here we go!
WBBC was Cornell Bhangra's last competition of the 2012-2013 season. For us graduating members, it was our last competition with Cornell; it's been a great run.
This set has been years in the making, is the consequence of many people's hard work, and it's very important to recognize a few people that have given us feedback/let us bounce ideas off them/put up with us: Amit Shah, Arjun Banerjee, Harman Narula, Nevin Sharma, Arnab Sarker, Eashwar Rangarajan, Arushi Mudgal, Sharmila Bisaria, Sahil Jain, Sunanda Nath, Steve Nguyen, our good friends on Cornell Raas, all the great judges who have given us such great criticism and advice since 2011, and all of the alumni who shared a stage with us in our journey (Nitin, Gabriela, Yamuna, Desh, Anesha, Sumanth, Rohini, Ameet and countless other dedicated friends). Lastly, I want to thank the plethora of teams that influenced me over the years and motivated us to think outside our creative confines.
WBBC was a fantastic weekend for our team, and it was 100% because of the phenomenal job done by the entire WBBC staff. Ankush, Faizan, Jaggi, and Raj - you and your crew put together a show made for teams. Every small detail was thought out and the best part was that the committee didn't just do stuff "because that's how everyone does it". These guys got creative with everything and it made the weekend so much more memorable for all the teams I spoke to. Shout out to the Cal crew for the after-afterparty shenanigans
as well as all the other teams we got to hang out with! Big thanks to Dilbagh on the pagghan, GSimz for letting me snag a patti at the last second, and Aksam for being a great liaison!
I also wanted to take a moment to thank the Bhangra community which has been so crucial in educating me and our team in the past 5 years. I came into Cornell knowing very little about Bhangra and found tremendous resources in what all you guys/girls had to offer. As it is for many of us, Bhangra has been the largest/best part of my college experience and most of all I'm thankful for the memories and friendships I've been able to create with all of you. There are so many things I've been lucky to experience as a member of this community, and this last one at WBBC is very humbling.
Lastly, this story is only half complete without my Co-Captain, Anik Saha. This guy joined me as Captain after a brutal end to our 2012 season with Blowout and I'm so thankful for his motivation to keep me going. Anik bro, the stories I have of working with you on the set are ones I will remember forever. You're a fantastic captain, and more importantly, the best friend one could ask for.
Cornell - you guys gave me the best 5 years of my life, thank you. Can't wait to cheer on your 2013-2014 campaign from the audience
