My Dad on the other hand does not believe in people becoming possesed. When he was in india someone in our family/neighbour had claimed to be possesed by a evil spirit and she had been acting out for a while. So they took her to amritsar to see a sant and my dad went along but at this point he didnt know she was claiming to be possesed. When they got to this place where apparently they get rid of spirits she started acting out saying there was a spirit in her and my dad being the non-believer smacked her across the face and by the time he had lifted his hand a second time she yelled for him to stop and then admitted to putting on an act cuz her in-laws treated her like crap or w.e. My dads had his fair share of run-ins with this stuff, for the most part he doesnt believe in evil spirts and he's beat up his fair share of sants trying to make money off of uneducated people.
ur dad sounds tight. all this supernatural stuff isn't real. it's for the gullible and the not-so-intelligent. hey, if u experienced it then that's cool if u believe what u think u saw. i don't believe u.

sikhism was created as an alternative perspective to religions that believe blindly in the supernatural. it was to get people to learn and think for themselves. our gurus never did or claimed to do anything supernatural (the sakhis we hear weren't made by the gurus) and that's why the view of god in sikhism is not a separate and supernatural entity.

funny how so many today are fooled by these so called religious people who talk about spirits like they r real life john constantines.

To tell you the truth, most of this stuff can be explained through physiology. For example, my dad thought he was seeing my dead grandpa walk around his room at night and he would come up to his bed and stare at him. My dad said he couldn't move at all and just sat there and watched while all this happened. My mom told me this and I immediately told her that there wasnt any paranormal crap going on, he was experiencing sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is when your mind wakes up while your body is still asleep and is very common when you sleep on your back. Along with being paralysed, you are fully aware of your surroundings but you begin to hallucinate. The hallucinations that you experience are usually of loved ones and things you see, miss, love but also can involve things you fear. Many people claim to see a "black presence" around them which dissapears. You can also hear noises, talking, and footsteps. The brain is a powerful thing, and often times, the subconscious becomes the conscious and we are unable to cope with it. Something as simple as insufficient production of specific neurotransmitters may result in halliucinations along the lines of what many of the people have stories about. Now imagine the average uneducated individual in the pindh. How do you explain something that just cant be explained...blame it on the supernatural.

.....dont sleep on your back

so the craziest thing ive ever seen has nothing to do with paranormal activity and such. i dont know what compelled my friends and i to do this, but we kind of wanted to myth bust the infamous "tijuana stinky donkey show" ... we all went to school in san diego so tijuana, mexico was an easy 15 min drive. i have been scarred for life since that night we decided to go seek it out. the stinky donkey show is no myth and after witnessing that, it by far is the craziest thing ive ever seen.

if you dont know what the tijuana donkey show is google it. id rather not re-live that experience.

p.s. - i have never been able to look at donkeys the same ever since, oh the horrrrror -_-

This happens to me once a month or so, more often when I'm stressed. Recently happened too. I've seen black images, an old witch like lady with long nails scratching at my head, heard the devil voice saying i'm going to die and have seen other scary looking images. My brother has also seen his door opening and closing quickly while suffering sleep paralysis.

It doesn't freak me out anymore when this happens. I usually just breathe and try to put myself back to sleep.

Now lets just not call them gyani's!!! Such disrespect to the name!! People who does some stupid like that or anything, they are not gyani, they dont even desrve to be called gyani.

I remember back at my old job, an engineer had heart attack in office and died. Now everytime I work nights there, go through the hall way. I heard so many times the keyboard typing itself up. Than I just said Waheguru and on my way.

Another one the scaries one I ever heard was when my dad used to go walk 5 in morning in India. He would pass by mariyan(cemetry). He said he saw so many times those dead old people from next village just wondering around there. So I was coming to my village one night on bike. I had flat and my village was like couple miles down the street. So I decided to walk the distance. I shit you not, as I was passing under black tree(KIKAR in punjabi) I saw PEENGH(ropes hanging around the branch) and 2 ladies white clotehs white hairs, swinging back n forth. I never been that scared in my life, started saying Waheguru shaking all the way home. I am never going down that road again at night shit.

Guru Sahibaana di baani daah jaap karo, sara darr nikal janda. Waheguru Waheguru bol singhan Waheguru.

What's more disrespectful, them kissing or the hate that is being spread by statements like this one? What every happened to the concept of equality of all people in Sikhi?

Got a few.

1. Apparently, a long time ago when my mama was driving a truck he saw a lady with white clothes on just in the middle of the street in Ontario. He just said waheguru and drove past her and apparently he drove right through her, while her body being backward and her head facing him.

2. Another one, my grandma's sister was once possesed, due to the fact when they were little they used to go to this gurdwara every 2 weeks. They stopped going as they got older, and stopped even thinking about it. As my grandma says, it's probably to remind her of how she had promised to go for the rest of her life, and as she stopped she got possesed and started getting reminded. She was back home in india and apparently whenever she'd call here to Canada, it would be a manly voice just saying "save me." Don't know what happened after, and don't even want to know.

3. This next one happened to my cousin's friend. She was laying down in her room(perfectly normal), until she felt a heavy weight on her chest and 2 voices. One saying "should we take her yet," The other saying "not yet, wait until she's asleep." She couldn't move or anything.

4. Lastly, my cousin tells me about the people that live in front of her. Their grandma just recently died, and now randomly the garage door opens in the middle of the night randomly and closes, and so on.

Oh the crazy things spirits can do to you.

This is sleep paralysis, see my previous post.

I just remembered when one of my stories but its far from supernatural. We went to india when I was around 14 with my dad and we were at the bazaar near doaba chownk in jalandher. As we were walking around there was a man on the ground near one of the shops just covered in blood, cuts all over his face, blood pouring into his eyes, mouth, and on the ground. While laying there, he struggled to speak but with the little energy he had, all he did was beg for water. He continued to beg anyone that walked by to give him a glass of water, but not a single person stopped to help him. Some stopped and stared, but then moved on to wherever they were going and ignored him. My dad saw him and went to give him water but our driver in india, whos a long time friend, immediately grabbed his arm and stopped him. He explained to him that if the cops saw him helping him, they'd either blame whatever happened to the guy on my dad or theyd pick him up for some other bullshit reason . Dad had no choice but to walk away. Its one of those images that is permanently scarred into my mind. Its something ill probably never be able to get over.

Just in general, the images of corruption and poverty in india are things that ill never forget, no matter how much I want to. I find it worse than this supernatural shit because the validity of the supernatural is questionable but this stuff that happened in india is real and happened right in front of me.

that's just sad, and i'd hate to see something like that, but yeah usually whenever we visit india, there's always stuff like that happening, and that's the time when you wish you hadn't been there or something. And i agree, it is worse than many things that happen to people, only because you've seen it with your own eyes.
