VIBC didn't charge competitors for the afterparty and they received VIP access into the venue as well.

Competition is in the valley, and the afterparty is in the OC, an hour drive by car, God knows how long if theres buses/vans. Theres a small city called Los Angeles thats about 20 minutes south of CSUN, i still dont get why they didn't/couldnt choose 1 of the 45million clubs that LA has

This is going to be a SHIT competition...this is absurd asking teams to pay for after party. I hope they have $$$ to pay to winning teams. Last time I heard from one of the organizer that they had only 50 tickets sold.

Are they giving any transportation to teams from Airport.
What is the official hotel, if any..
Any transportation to teams to and from hotel to show venue.
Any transportation to teams to and from hotel to after party venue.

Their website is also crap, doesn't mention anything..
I still think teams should drop out. It would be waste of time & money..

Dear Sonali the Smart,

I believe it is too late for teams to "drop out" since it is the day before the show and out of town teams have already arrived. Thank you for your concern! No really, its greatly appreciated!!!

.............as for CSUN, all I can say is HHAHAHA JALLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE

the beautiful 818 8)
I use to have a 818 number because I loved it so much. No lie. Balboa Lake. Punjab Sweet N Spices. Reseda Mandir. And the In and Out on Rinaldi. Life blows without it =(

Hey wussup mah peoples,
Hey so i jus wanted to clear up some stuff for you guys before you guys continue bashin...the afterparty is being thrown by Upscaled Events...yes that is my crew and i dj for them....anyway CSUN has no part in this and asked us to throw the afterparty...i am a bhangra lover and i understand how these comps work and 100% feel you on why teams should get in for free...us being party promoters are putting up all the money out of our own pockets and we are providing all the fundin for the artist and afterparty...if i gave u a list of wha the expenses are you would know our pain...CSUN isnt doin nething for the afterparty and they are jus handlin the show....my manager wanted to personally write out a letter explainin stuff for you guys so please read it....gluck to everybody tonight and whoever is attendin the show and party hope u have an amazing night

MY MANAGERS LETTER TO U ALL:

This is the scenario straight from the President of Upscaled Events, Harry Tiwari.

Why RAGHAV at a Bhangra Competition

1. Upscaled was already in the works of bringing Raghav down for their own event and CSUN approached Upscaled to host their afterparty so we collaborated.
2. CSUN Bhangra is trying to liven things up! All these competitions are the same thing every year. This year we threw Raghav in the mix and now we’re expecting a more diverse crowd to both the show and afterparty.

Why is the afterparty venue in Orange County?

1. CSUN is in the Valley. There is no party scene in the Valley.
2. We were planning on hosting the afterparty in LA or Hollywood but decided not to based on finals week. So we choose an area near a lot of schools like UCI, UCR, Cal Poly, CSUF, and CSULB. Rather then CSUN in the valley or UCLA who have finals.

Why are the teams getting charged at the afterparty?

1. Were providing bus rides. Bus rides, Gas is not free.
2. The afterparty was not funded by a school nor is there any sponsorship money going towards it.
3. The other competitions were selling afterparty tickets for 30-40 bucks. Upscaled Events is giving everyone set prices $17 Presale. $20 at the door before 11 and $25 after 11. That’s the price for a normal Indian party in Hollywood these days.

We respect and love all the teams that are apart of CSUN Bhangra. We understand your frustrations but it comes down to this. The show is giving out over 3k in Prizes. The afterparty which is not funded by any school nor sponsors includes a bus ride and Raghav for 10 Bucks we think it’s a fair deal. If you guys have any further questions comments send me a message at info@upscaled.com

Good luck to everyone and see you tonight!

Here's the issue:

We all think 10 bucks for the afterparty is fine, but it's being advertised as the "Official CSUN Bhangra Afterparty". The comp didn't put up any money it seems, isn't taking care of the competing teams, and from our perspective gave no input for this.

IT SHOULD NOT BE BILLED AS THE OFFICIAL AFTERPARTY if the competition has nothing to do with it. We all know fights and stuff break out at these things and competitions are quick to point out that they have nothing to do with it. But if one goes well then it's always, always 'such and such competitions afterparty' not, the 'upscaled afterparty on behalf of the competition'

Can't have it both ways, if you're billed as the official afterparty, you carry the same responsibilities as the competition and that means taking care of teams. If you're not getting any help from the competition, then you need to rework the contract and reframe how your selling it to us.

You said it yourself, this is a for-profit afterparty that you were gonna throw anyway and CSUN just attached their name and now patrons of the competition (team and audience) have to drive 1 hour to go to some afterparty, and may have to drive one hour back after their friends are trashed (cause no one drinks and drives right?)

Your trying to make money, we get that, we respect that. The point is that the 'official afterparty' should still be respectful to teams, and more than the money, shouldn't be located so far away.

One other thing, I didn't mean to unload on you guys, so if it came off that way I'm sorry.

My issue is that this is problem at many competitions and I feel there needs to be a better understanding by competitions that Saturday night is just as important as Friday night when teams judge the competition. If you're going to contract the afterparty to someone else, it doesn't absolve you of the responsibility, you should still take care of teams and own up if there's a fight that you picked people who didn't do a good job running it.

Otherwise, don't have an official one and just give a list of parties that are happening that night or give a heads up to a local club.
