Personally I felt that the placings were not crediable.
I dont mean to offend the placing teams, but I believe certain teams did a lot better than those who had placed. None the less congrates!

I feel that Bhangra Regiment had this one though!! Despite not getting the glory on stage I still say this was your guy's comp and u owned!!!! Loveed everything!! my team was competing here (lethal vibe) and we all thought the the competition was put together very poorly. The venue was not that great it was at a high school. the hotel was pretty ghetto and so was the whole area.

i got to see bhangra regiment and they were very entertaining. mix was good thanks to sunlight vardiyan were nice, although it was a little messy could have been cleaner.a few guys messed up but still deserved a placing.

i also got to see bmw's performance and they were pretty energetic and entertaining. also could have been cleaner and a few guys messed up.

Just got home from the comp, sorry to say this, but it was WHACK! Very unorganized in all aspects.

- First off, we stayed at Ramada Inn...really?
- We had some dancers coming in later on friday so we talked to the committee members to arrange a ride. Their response "We're busy with the mixer." So a guy on my team was like should i just walk to the bus station. They said "I don't know man, i guess."
-We weren't provided any water bottles for our teams, which i know is kind of a little thing, but it matters man. We payed for most of our food there, we were brought food at the venue 2 hours after it was supposed to be there.
- We had to ask about the mixer and when it started
-mixer started late
-We had our tech time scheduled for 12:30. They had technical problems and stuff so we had to wait for tech time. This put everything else behind.
-Once you got to the venue, you couldn't leave to go back to the hotel. We were there since 12.
- None of the committee members were really helping us out much. A few of the girls on the committee held it down for us. The girls checked in with us occasionally to see if we were good. Bunty was pretty much the only guy from the committee that helped us out. He was the only one that gave us a ride to the airport for our flight. We had so much trouble trying to get a ride so we finally just called Bunty up.
-Don't even get me started on the judging. We all know how that went lol. But what really sucked was that we weren't given score sheets or a chance to talk to the judges. straight up just wait for the videos.

Honestly, we won't be applying to csun again....not well run at all

Wow what to say this weekend @ CSUN Bhangra... I think Vaibhav summed it up pretty much. Some of the teams I did get bits and pieces such as lethal vibe and regiment. I have to say lethal vibe brought a sick set and regiment was amazing. For the whole performances I did get to watch, those would be USC and LAPD. I honestly felt that the placings given out were retarded (not because we didn't place, but because some of those performances I felt were not placeable routines). As for bringing the NBA girls out with us, we had a lot a fun performing with them and I was happy to hear from a lot of people that they enjoyed our set.

TECH TIME WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DELAYED.

As for the committee, you guys were nice at the beginning of the day. But when it got towards the end of the night and you wanted us to clear out, DON'T EVER THREATEN A TEAM BY SAYING, "GET OUT OR WE WILL MAKE YOU GET OUT." For the 4 guys on the committee that came into the dressing room, don't step up a team after you fail to even have the judges hanging around at the show afterwards. I asked one of you personally and you guys said they all left. I saw two judges just walking around in the parking lot.

As for the venue, I didn't really think it was that bad or anything. Yes its a high school, but their auditorium is huge a for freakin high school.

AND WHO DECIDED THE ONE ON ONE CHALLENGE? seriously richa from lapd tore up the damn stage, tanu from bruin killed it too.

Shoutouts to BABC/CAL for the help with the paags, Regiment, and Bruin Bhangra.

I remember this...it was really shady.
The venue could have been much better though...I've performed at high school culture shows and their venues have been as big if not bigger than this venue.

I feel the judges didnt do a good job.
The teams that placed were good, but we all know it wasn't fitting. Big ups to Regiment and BMW. Looks like Regiment brought some new talent with those new costumes.

What I thought was entertaining was CSUN Bhangra: True Culture. The crowd went nuts for them, and as a first-time exhibition team, they were pretty good! fun to watch as well.

I just got home form the competition. all i gotta say about Csun bhangra is "OMG".. I've been to a lot of competitions in the past, but by far this was the WORST Competition i ever been too and im not saying that cuz my team didn't win or anything, im really happy for all the placing team like USC/CAL/Bruin...

1. Venue at High School
2. Only had 2 or 3 dressing rooms for ALL the teams
3. Tech Time was Super Delayed, it wasn't even FUNNY
4. Stage lighting was so messed up

will anyways good LUCK to Csun bhangra next year.

Shout out to: NBA girls and Sonu paji From KJ and my boys from Regiment.

The committee guys were also making sleazy comments to my gf and her friend. If I had found out sooner, they would have been knocked out in the dressing room.

Competition Review:

Mixer:
It was kind of boring, but it served its purpose. I wish they did more stuff though, but since most teams were local, they just left for home.
They chose their lineup in an interesting way though I guess. They had us chose cards out of a deck and have the highest card pop a balloon to see which lineup number we would get.
Another thing is that they chose who would go "head to head"3

"Head-to-Head"
Props to the CSUN Bhangra Committee, because I really thought this was a dope idea. However when it actually happened, there was really no way to see how they were judged or anything. They had each team go against another team, in a dance battle.
But they should've done it like a tournament bracket, and had one team advance up to the next round. Then the judging would have been more fair, and it would have been a much better part of the show.

The Actual Show
I didn't really get to see most of the show, because my team was getting ready backstage.
However, I did see Regiment perform, and I honestly thought they killed it. Their energy on stage was amazing, and their nakhra hyped me up in the audience.
I was almost sure they should have placed.
I also heard from the majority of people that BMW was sick, and that Cal Bhangra and LAPD were good as well.
Basically, I heard the same thing that three of these four teams should have placed for sure from alot of people watching the show.
In other words, the majority of people felt the competition to be rigged.

Judging and Judges
The judges told us that our mix was off, and that the songs were repetitive. They told us that the transitions didn't make any sense. They also mentioned that the moves weren't traditional.
Yet, we had dhamaal, sial koti, jugni, phumaniyaan, a jhoomer part, dhamaaka, and even a mela scene in our routine.
Another thing is that the judges didn't mention anything positive about our routine. I guess it isn't a requirement, but just putting us down on things that don't make sense isn't proper judging either.
I walked back into the auditorium and overheard one of regiment's guys talking to the judges too, and the judge told him the same thing, for the 10 sec that I overheard them....that the mix was repetitive, and the moves weren't traditional, and that their song selection was boring. I honestly thought that both of our mixes were legit and that we had good song selection. Regiment had traditional moves that I saw in their routine.
What does this conclude to?
Maybe the judges just said the same thing to every team that didn't place? but idk

another thing is that, the judges couldn't possible have had any time to tally up the points and judge the head on competition at the same time, because the singer of the show didn't even perform.

It all leads me to feel that the competition was rigged, as it led the majority of the people who watched it.

I guess only videos will be able to tell.
I heard GTV was there, so if they were, it'll be hella good for everyone to see all the performances and make a judgement

CSUN Bhangra messed up big time:

1) Venue was not that great(High School Auditorium).
2) The equipment would read the CD (mix) first time and then second time it won't play the same exact CD during our tech time.
3) No real dressing rooms. Putting 3-4 team in one class room to get dressed.
4) No water before performance time. All the water was gone during tech time.
5) Played the wrong mix for our team.
6) Lighting was way off and apparently judges cared about the lighting a lot.
7) Judging for the "dance off" who knows, how they figured that out. Dance off should have been narrowed down. Overall Judges didn't want to give or even show the score card. They didn't even want to talk to the teams.

Hands down Regiment and BMW deserved a placement.

Congratulation to all the teams that placed USC/Cal/Bruin ...

Shout out to Cal Bhangra for sharing their Saaps!
