I really doubt that the nachda punjab folks did that, they had picked out judges fairly even though one judge was against girls doing bhangra, but other then that the judging was in the judges hand.

are you f'real? in what way, shape, or form was this performance SO bad that it required a competition conspiracy for them to take 1st over vdub and sfbc/babc. Extremely disrespectful to the dancers on DC.

no disrespect to the team but having compared the videos of the performances I personally think this should have got third if anything, i believe it was the first time you guys went live as an all guys team? as far as i know anyway, so its unsurprising that there were mistakes and some sloppiness but congrats either way, good luck in future. With regard to the comments on the judges etc, sounds like more of a comment on the committee than the team themselves.

I would never bother to write anything I found to e disrespecting towards any team. I respect dc and I have cheered and been supportive of this team since I saw them first. I respect that they are one of the few live east teams and so on but I wouldn't come on here n bullshit or say anything that I was even slightly false. cant tell if it was the singer, the dholi, or the dancers but something definitely seemed like it was forced, didnt get a 'vibe' off this set..seemed like it was way too last minute, just my opinion...seemed like the dancers were not to par with the dhol at all times.. work on getting all 3 aspects (singer, dhol, and dancers) in sync for the next performance because something was definitely lacking

yah, um, who are you?.. i dont really trust your perspective seeing as how i dont even know who you are.
the statement you quoted isnt straight out of a physics book or anything.. i mean its pretty straight forward...
if i really cared to elaborate i would have. but seeing as how that would just be deviating WAY too far off from the actual topic i wont because the statement was only made to further my initial point.

Sgrewal- Agreed it wasnt the strongest performance but you have no right to bash the commitee or teams. Everyone going to this comp busted their ass off too put on a show for the fans. Judges placed how they saw it. There must be some crazy reasone why the commitee picked them as judges. I am pretty sure comps do not like making themselves look stupid. DCMPAA showcased alot of stuff taht has gone missing in folk bhangra of late.

So on that note congrats to all the placing teams.

dont tell me i dont have the "right" to voice my opinion. im not BASHING anyone. i could easily say hey the committee did a great job in keeping the audience entertained in between performances and before the show, they didnt drag on with awkward pauses, they had a VERY respectable tribute to their school's recently deceased teacher which they didn't have to do but wanted to do and how organized they made had the venue looking with security and members doing each other parts etc. etc. etc. but the topic isnt "nachda punjab 2010 review" its DC metros video. and its posted for us to see and its our "RIGHT" to give our opinion as we feel. if that means i can state the obvious like this isnt a first place SET, then i can and i will. know why? cuz i have the right to. and youre right, comps dont make themselves look stupid... thats why when ANY competition is asked "hey, was this comp rigged?" they say "heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllll noooooooooooo, come back next year "

sgrewal u need to relax. no one is saying ur bashing dc. u have ur opinion about their placing, thats fine. but out of nowhere, u came out with very blatant assumption regarding the nachda punjab committee and way the judging is "rigged." NP committee may have done a great job holding and organizing the competition but if you are going to say stuff like that with examples then back up ur other statment about the judging as well, bc u clearly are bitter w/ the way the placings turned out, be mature and elaborate instead of getting all pissy and defensive.

Don't wanna get into all this "rigged" business but only one judge (Dhanoa) talked to the team and according to him our set was "too fast" =| and that we didn't need to "get all fancy" and wear multicolored phummans and what not. I think the judges knew what they were talking about for the most part and it just came down to personal preference whether they liked slow vs. fast, completely folk vardiyan vs. folk vardiyan with a little twist, etc.

As always, we're content with the outcome. Obviously, everyone wants to get that 1st, but its not the end of the world if one comp doesn't go your way (even tho in our case its been a few now ahem ahem haha)

Nonetheless, congrats to DCMPAA, biggggg ups to my boys Harsh and Ricky Jattttt holdin it down. That's twice in cali now guys, don't get too comfy next time we're gonna get ya hehe just some friendly trash talk See you boys at elite.

Well someone clearly did say "dont bash on the teams/committee" so she did get called out. However, I understand what you're trying to say. Do post your opinions and what you felt was strong or weak; saleem made this site for a reason. If people present their opinions (obviously they 'should' be in a mature manner) respect them. Sure there were things said about the committee's trueness to the judging, and if you have to say something to that, message her. otherwise this thread will turn into a mela. discuss, don't debate. Anyways congrats to DC on the first, there are some things that you guys might wanna work on like synchronization. Reviews have been written so i wont do that. good luck in the future though.
