yaa the ddt awards is more of just an award recognition type of thing. it's like their version of the oscars. the point was to have undiscovered and unheard of teams to be able to present and be compared along side the popular well-known teams. this gives them an opportunity to be more well-known. since some teams excel in one or more features of dance like gimmics, tricks, stunts, formation sequence, etc., they have awards to highlight such strengths. few categories like intro video and stunts cross over to all dance styles but other categories have separate awards for bhangra, garba/raas, bollywood, and fusion. there are 3 stages of voting, viewer's, team captains, and the committee to remove any bias. teams also nominate themselves in whatever category and include a video along with timing in the video for each category. i also heard next year they are trying to turn this into a live show with exhibition acts, should be pretty interesting to see how this turns out.
