Dhagga Help!

So i got a new skin for my dhol, and ive tried stringing it twice, stretching it and all, but every time it dries up, its always very high pitched...
is there something that i might not be doing to the skin? i soaked for about 20 mins, and tried stretching it, but that didnt work either...

any help is appreciated!

My suggestion, String it, make sure it's all even, wet the dagga tighten it halfway and play the dagga, and when you're not playing it, tighten all the way instead of loosening it.

why don't you loosen the ropes after it dries?
