My good friend, The Dictionary, begs to differ. They are costumes.

theres nothing wrong with saying costumes, but if you wana be cultured, they should be called vaardiyan.
you dont call bhangra salsa, you dont call vaardiyan costumes.

In sum, if you want to be accepted among BTF-ers, say vardiyan...(same way you say a pagh instead of turban, which is an easier example)
And I think we should work to standardize romanized Punjabi. Writing vaardiyan, the "aa" to make makes me think the sounds is the same as the "aa" in yaar.

ladies ladies, you're all pretty. Let's stick to the constructive criticism

One thing though:

These are excuses that no one wants to hear. You've been on the forum long enough that you are not 'new' to the circuit. You have resources, threads, contacts, mixes, ideas, etc. Don't give yourself an inferiority complex to start. Comb through all the info you can get out the forum, stay confident that you're doing the best you can and keep improving.

Send your video out in PM to people you know will review it. This ensures you can have dialogue and get real help instead of some general comments from random people

costumes is fine, dw. As long as people understand what you are talking about I dont see it as a reason for people to start bitching.

I personally find your turle to be a distraction. I dont tie the paggs on AEG but from this video my guess is that you guys either did not properly starch them or that the turle were made way too large and thats why they were wobbling.

agreed. starch lighter so itrs easier to slide them into the pagh, and slide it in deeper (thats what she said). and keep your turle small. the more comfortable you get with tying them, the bigger you can get.

use a saftey pin on ur chadre, helps keep them closed.

thanks for the help guys...the turla were properly starched but for some reason we couldn't get the green turlas tucked in completely. I ended up hitting it during the transition to dhamaal and ended up knocking it over. We'll make sure to practice tieing paghs this time...and we also pinned the chadars but for some reason my chadar still popped open at the very beginning. We unfortunately dont have the full sized chadara.

I seriously thought this was a video from Dhamaak Punjab Di the TV Show...
The one that used to come on ITV and had Daler Mendhi's bolo ta ra ra as the theme song?

Good times.
