Miami has the players, they just don't want it as bad as other elite NBA teams do, they represent all that is wrong with NBA basketball. I mean put all the talent in the world on the floor, and what happens? Players get lazier, play no defense, wade counting on Lebron to score..Bosh counting on Wade to score, Lebron counting Bosh to grab a rebound, its a cycle of fail... losing games against lower ranked teams such as pacers or memphis isn't a team of championchip calibar. If they change shit up sometime around the Allstar break and shoot for a 3rd or 2nd seed in the west and build some chemistry before playoffs then something good will happen but if they keep this up then it's C's v.s Lakeshow all over again which I wouldn't mind watching... lol
Well put ;)

Too bad for the Heat, they didn't seem to have any fans after the initial celebration of signing Bosh and Lebron. The arena was empty from the start...bandwagon fans might jump on in the playoffs, but Miami basketball has to have one of the weakest fan bases around if they cant sell that place out and have it hype every single game.
Our heat fan base has been weak, i do agree with this. I've been a fan since the 90's when i was old enough to understand the sport. (I miss tim hardaway, big zo, pj brown, jamal mashburn, anthony carter, dan majerle, etc). But selling out every game? no team in the entire league does that, and we come pretty close to each game this season. Theres a paid waiting list for a LOTTERY for season tickets right now, if thats not answers to the hype i dont know what is. I can't defend our bandwagon fans, but i definitely know some quality supporters, including myself and others.

problems with miami so far

1. dwade and lebron dont play well together because essentially they have the same skill sets and game. they are replicating each others roles within the constrains of the offense they have.
2. mediocre post defense allows penetration from guards and good positioning by the opposing team's bigs
3. shot selection is stupid by lebron and to a lesser extent wade. neither have been great shooters outside of 15 feet and have essentially made their living near the basket (high efficiency from there too). this year they are resigned to taking too many early shot clock shots, long 2s, contested 3s and just bad looks in general.
4. lack of ball movement, especially on the perimeter. there is still lots of possessions where when the ball gets to lebron that the movement stops and he holds it for 10 seconds and throws up a low percentage shot. kills flow of offense and negates the advantage they have with wade and bosh on the floor as well.
5. weak bench and depth but we all knew that was gonna happen when u have 3 near max contracts.

solutions
1. minimize time that dwade and lebron are on court together.
2. play at faster pace to overcome bad defense, you gotta just outscore everyone
3. make lebron post up more
4. forbid dwade and lebron to shoot 3s
5. pray that their egos get smaller.

chemistry wont make this team win. winning creates chemistry, not the other way around.
hit alot of big points on the head. I think wade and lebron CAN be on the floor together, but not in the same way they currently play, they have to absorb certain aspect of their roles. Lebron is a PASSER, he has that great court vision, he drives to set others up. Wade has the short shot and the drive game (which lebron also does). You need to use them together as accents to one another, not as substitutes, but also much more sparingly than currently happens.

Ego's is not an issue. Its a matter of someone stepping up and taking COMMAND. Pat Riley could do this, but it woudl NOT be the golden answer everyone wants. Pat Riley will work them into the ground, and bosh already is saying coach wants to work us too hard sometimes? bosh would quit before the first game.

Eric spolestra needs to run more plays involving a passing game, less perimeter opportunities for the subpar shooting of wade and lebron, and more agressive defense WITHOUT CHRIS BOSH SETTING PICKS ON HIS ON MEN! JESUS if i had a dollar for every time he's done this because he DOESN'T know how to play switch D (which he shouldnt even be playing), i'd be f*cking rich.

Sincerely,

A frustrated heat fan.

yea exactly. they need to modify their roles but lebron is already saying to the media that he thinks he shouldnt have to change. i dont know if lebron has it in him yet though to take a look in the mirror and realize that he needs to not fancy himself as a long jump shooter and go back to what makes him great. taking it to the basket and making offense easier for the lesser players.

i think spo is a pretty good coach and knows what he is doing. i just dont know if they really have the personnel to run it though. right now it seems like square holes and circle pegs. maybe a motion offense would work? their defense was great first few games too and if they can get back to that it created lots more opportunities. i still think they will be a good team and win 50+ games but it could easily implode too.

Come on now, we didn't get whooped! Lost by 3 points on one of our worst defensive efforts this season. I still remember when we lost to the Pacers when Murphy got that last second tip in...I hated that day. The Pacers have gotten better

Don't compare heat to lakers, that's like comparing Lebron to Kobe, just wrong! They lost by 3 points and whats their record compared to Miamis? LA's sitting nice right now even though i'm not even a Laker fan. I support the Celtics. If Heat wants a championship, should they loose to pacers by 20 plus points in their own house.. jus sayin

Lol i didnt bring it back someone else did. And then i recalled a couple of knowitalls running they mouths. Some stats for you guys: Lakers longest losing streak is longer than Miami's longest losing streak. Lakers current winning streak is shorter than Miami's current winning streak. The Lakers are 5-5 in their last ten. Miami? 9-1 in their last ten.

Why, you might ask, do i care about the comparison of the lakers to the heat? The answer? i don't. I just figured all you LA fans, who got the heat on your mind 24/7, would like some updates. Cheers ladies.

;)

lots of people on this thread said once they get rolling they won't stop, and it does not look like they'll stop soon.

LeBron needs to be the star, even if its Dwayne's team. If anyone saw the Golden State - Miami game, LeBron kept getting passes left and right from D-wade. If D-wade turns into an assist major, let LeBron do the scoring and have bosh get all the boards, they will win the championship.
cuz Bosh does have the ability to fight for boards with the best of em
Dwayne Wade has a plethora of passing moves
and No one can stop LeBron one on one, lets be real.

Miami's interior is a HUGE concern. The Heat don't have a legitimate imposing big man...Bosh is not known for his defense, Big Z is getting old and I can crawl faster than him, Juwon Howard can hit the sideline jumper but he too isn't an interior presence, Joel Anthony can block some shots but plays limited minutes, Udonis Haslem is a big part of this team and its unfortunate he's missing a lot of time. Matching up against Boston/Orlando's bigs will be a huge problem.

Also Kush...thanks for the current winning/losing streaks but they don't mean anything. Miami can roll all they want now but the regular season is a completely different game than the post season. Just one example: Cleveland has had the best record in the east last 2 years now and we all know what has happen there. Boston was the 4th seed last year and took the east.

Miami definitely has the talent to win the title. But I still think Boston is the team to beat in the East. They are a more complete team than Miami & has better depth.

Lebron does not need to be the star... Thats exactly what the last 8 games proved. Wade has 30+ the last two games and they both average almost the same ppg! Wade at 23ish, Lebron at 25ish. This new found, switching off wing play with the occasional feeds to one another is KILLING teams because wade will get you twice, and on the next play lebron comes at you ready to go, and when you have only one guy in, you gotta watch out from the mid range jumper of chris bosh. With Chalmers back in (a GREAT move, been waiting for arroyo to sit) we have a SOMEWHAT better point guard presence at least defensively, and Big Z is playing better than he has in some time, though i agree his inside game is still not going to stand against some of the bigger teams. But lebron being the star? nah. wade still runs the heat.

All good points dude, and i agree with them pretty much. My jokes about streaks are to all the haters that have all shut up in the last 2 weeks of play. I'm a realistic fan, i just like to get into it with people who bandwagon love AND bandwagon hate. Boston is still the team to beat, esp with the new firey KG and Shaq playing better than he has since the Miami Championship run.

Heat power ranked at fifth... wasssssaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Lakers at 7. ohh emmm geeeeee :). Mavs in number 1? i like the Spurs right now over the mavs but still, west is dirty. Also, derek rose and the bulls may have the best success as an east team against all west teams, but theyre still too heavy a load on rose. Boozer, with a swing back will help, but i dno about 3/4 or w/e they are.

Time for those rankings to change :) Mavs' streak finally ended, and well the Mavs and Spurs faceoff against each other next game I believe, so one of them is bound to lose. West is solid, but I don't know how I feel about some teams. For example, the hornets were KILLING it in the beginning of the season, and well now...not so much haha. I like the bulls in the east, boozer's gettin back up to speed. Haven't watched a game though, hoping the rose/boozer pick and roll is working out. As for 8 game winning streaks, how bout them knicks!? Amar'e set the record for consecutive games of 30+ and is taking the knicks to good places
