having fun and being sloppy is worse. bhangra has to be taken seriously enough that people are motivated to dance properly, if bhangra seems robotic, it is not being done properly no matter how "clean" the presentation. it's rare that a north american team will reach the point where all the dancers hit a skill level where they can dance properly, cleanly, and make it look effortless. if dancers look like they're having lots of "fun" on stage it looks forced and fake, which is why i think it's dumb to award points for excessive jubilant expression. what a team presents to the audience is their appreciation for the dance and their desire to show off a set they're proud of, the enjoyment should be an internal sense of fulfillment when they kill a set.
