You'd have to be pretty fuckin sore losers to decide never to come to a specific comp again just because you thought you should've gotten better.
^^This

Also after EVERY competition there is a outburst about the placings......EVERY competition......Most of you havn't seen the scorecard/videos etc, but are getting riled up about who should have placed, who should have won. To top it all off it seems like people base their opinions off of someone else's text/status or emotions...WTF!!! With no credibility, in this case having been to the competition, how do some of you know who should have placed? I would love to have that ability, to argue for something that i had not witnessed. How would one sound saying the COLTS should have won the Superbowl instead of the Saints while not having seen the game? Answer: Stupid.

As well as, congratulations to VCU for winning. Undeserving/Deserving, you won.

Yo honestly I think it would be absolute bullshit if a team would decide not to go anymore because they're too busy sobbing their eyes out from not winning a comp against what really are the 8 most elite teams in NA.
Well not to be controversial but, really half the teams were the 'elite' ... The west coast of US has far better teams than LBC (not putting you guys down or anything).. west coast of Canada has better teams than Duniya.. same applies to US east as well ... Canada east was well chosen off course haha

a lot of ppl told me aeg was very good - probably their best performance ever (just what i've heard!)

if thats the case - just wanted to say big props to you guys - you've made some amazing strides in bhangra and i know its gona get better and better.

everyone was really just nj/sgpd going into the comp and even after, and even vcu here and there - but no one realy mentioned our east coast team of aeg who despite not winning - according to alot of my friends there said they were reallyy entertaining!

great job fellasss

Really fun weekend! alot of great performances and congrats to VCU for winning first. It was probably really hard for the judges to judge this comp. The top three teams in my opinion were VCU, SGPD and NJ so i will give my opinion on them.

VCU had a killer and dramatic ending with them bringing out their aluminas towards the end. Surmeet when we saw the big VCU banner hanging in the back in the beginning we from that point understood you guys were going to come out sometime during the performance, even though you tried to hide from us that you were performing with VCU ahhahaha. VCU was really clean and was standard VCU. It was a mix of some stuff from Burgh and some new stuff. There were hardly any mistakes and energy remained high throughout the performance. The mistakes( If any lol) went unnoticed for majority of the people. Props for Shahrukh for going buckwild when you came in the front from one part of the performance.

SGPD's routine was slight different from what we usually see from them. Going 16 guys was crazy. I also liked the unis and thought that its added greatly to the performance. In my opinion you guys had the best energy of the night and also very clean but probably 2-3 points behind VCU in that aspect. This time you guys kept it simpler compared to idols overall through the routine as there weren't any stunts or gimmicks but you guys added great detail to your steps. You guys are very athletic and all your hard work really showed in your performance. The jhoomer you guys did while in baithak form was sick. I really like you Daang segment. From what i recall you guys had a totally new set ( I might be mistaken) and give you guys props on doing that as I am a huge fan of teams that change up their choreo for every comp. This time you guys really did more of real Bhangra as compared to gimmicks and stunts and I really loved that.

NJ your guys choreo was extremely awesome. I think it was the most creative routine of the night in terms of first impression and also one of the most creative ever. You guys had something new and creative to show like every 20 seconds or so. The creativity was off the hook and I always look forward to watching your guys new sets. The set was totally new I think and big ups for that, like i said before I am big fan of teams that bring new stuff to every comp. no matter how much time they have. You guys going 16 was crazy. Your formations were awesome and one i really like was when all 16 of you were lined back in one light and folded inwards from the sides and then pulled it outwards from the center. Out of the three teams I'm discussing you guys probably had the most accidents/mistakes. If im not mistaking someone fell and also one of the guys messed catching his daang when you guys threw them in the air. I also believe there were a few other mistakes that I can't remember. Also i think you guys were the least clean out of the three teams. One thing i remember was going 16 made the stage very crowded and I can recall at one time when you guys had the two people staggered formation the guys on the left( from audience point of view) were kinda forced together as the people on the right spread out a little more. Overall I think this was your best set EVER and I can't wait to watch you guys on HD on GTV. I think the mistakes you guys had cost you from placing as all three teams were incredible and it was very hard to take off points anywhere.

One thing i wanted to say is that I personally believe the starting for all 8 Teams wasn't up to the level it could have been. I don't recall one starting were I can say oh shit. I also had a chance to talk to the two judges (the official judges not the judges from the teams) and from what I got from them was that it was extremely hard for them to take off points for certain teams as they were really clean and energetic. So it was pretty obvious that the mistakes that teams had made cost them a few points and the teams with fewest mistakes, which is of course VCU, won. Also from what I believe there was no discussion on judging within judges and the team with highest total points won and i heard the points were really close. From this I wan't to conclude that I think VCU truely deserved first place and they got it. There are several number of different aspects to a performance and VCU was the best overall when the points were calculated. Just because you are extremely good in one aspect does not mean you will win. These were my opinions and some of you might not agree with me. Once again CONGRATS TO VCU ON A WELL DESERVED FIRST. It was fun meeting a number of different people from teams and BTF and hope to bump into you guys in the future.

I agree, you shouldnt use specific names, thats not cool, if you fell then you fell, if youre hand-eye coordination got screwed then it got screwed, oh well. The knitty-gritty can be so unfair sometimes to the overall perspective.

VCU may have won (congrats) but NJ is still the best team in Canada :) BY FAR.

one thing i forgot ask is who was the joker fro VCU. That person did a awesome job. Im not a big fan of gimmicks but i think this was one of the best gimmicks iv'e ever seen and it was because of the person who played joker here not the whole concept. THis greatly topped your previous joker gimmick. I think it might have been Shahrukh's younger brother but I might be wrong.

It was his younger brother, and yes, he did a great job!

when u have teams of this caliber all put in one, your slightest mistake can act against you. Nachdi Jawani and SGPD had exceptionally well routines... but unfortunately one of NJs person fell down but recovered within mini seconds... and from wht i can remember both SGPD and Nachdi Jawani had their Sapps fall down or break.. not sure which one was it. Now again these may be very minor mistakes to worry about in some other competition...but u cudnt afford it here. On the other hand, I cant recall any sort of mistake VCU made... my quick recall..

Duniya: very very average set mixed with messiness and low energy. if u compare it with their amazing performances from the past, this was definitely their worst. also another thing... this goes to their past performances too... all their gimmicks always seem so forced and below average. Since duniya has done all kinds of sets in their past record varying from traditional, to modern co ed, etc... the routine they did at VIBC with Duniya Allstar BOYS,was amazinggg (not the year where nachdi jawani competed... the year before that i think maybe)... tht set of theirs from ages ago.. would have given them much much more respect last night.

LBC: brought the typical LBC style, but again all the dancers were on different page unfortunately. their energy level was low too... i understand they r graceful... but i believe u can still show great energy while being graceful (examples from their own regions... heeray punjab de, current virse de waris routine). once again compared to past performances, this wasnt their best one.

After watching those two, I was bit let down due to the hype... but then again next was nachdi jawani... so i reassured myself lol

Nachdi Jawani: their starting was nothin special.... and the dandia segment was unnecesary too.. again i was really confused as to why i was being let down by every team... but boy did they prove me wrong since their daanga segment started! right from their daanga segment till the very end of the routine it was just "DAAYYYUMMMMMMMMMMM" soooo creative it was just crazy... hands down it was the most creative set of the night. but they were somewt messy. and i mentioned their few mishaps earlier.. i wudnt go into it again. however as some1 mentioned b4... at the end of the performance i cudnt recall i saw soem actual bhangra segments... they might have done but i wasnt sure myself it they did or not.

VCU: started out strong... disagree tht this routine was a letdown from the burgh one... they did add some nice new segments. overall it was not as creative as nachdi jawani but there wasnt any mess ups and they were really clean. the chaal they did wz hot... ending wz like icing on the cake. overall it was a safe played game... with no extreme highs and downs.

AEG: had good energy. were creative but i think overall the routine was a mix up of different ideas inspired from other teams. great job with 3 man tower... not ez to pull it off. jump rope part was so n so. had d crowd goin positively and negatively ( ;-) ) lol ... i think ur gotham city bhangra routine u did wid 8 men... wz ur best and it defined ur own style.. recently it has become more of a trying to fit in style, even though it is creative.

SGPD: had great energy... and surprisingly they changed their style here a bit as they were much more folk last nite than their previous performances. the shadow gimmick in the jhummer segment was alrite. i wz happy with the fact they sticked with more folk aspect. after watching this performance i was really confused b/c nachdi jawani are more folk usually and they became really creative last nite... while sgpd is usually more on creative side and they became more folk.... so i didnt know which one judges would choose or what did the judging rubric favored.

PANJ: they did a nice set but unfortunately i cant really seem to remember anything or anythin thats stuck with me currently... i dont mean to put them down.. as it is said that there r 2 things u remember ... something thats awesome or something thats ugly... they were right in the middle... they had some old segments from their idols set.

EMPIRE: did their boston set. did what they usually do. had d crowd going with their nice gimmicks. the vests gimmick was awesome. but at the end of the day, if u r not doin proper bhangra to begin with, the gimmicks cant do u much.

overall it was a great competition.. it started out bit weak but got very strong!
judging was gnna be an issue no matter what... so congrats VCU!

Ricky was good addition at the end of the show... and he did a great job of compiling all the bolis as one track... he kept it short n simple.

LBC is prob the chillest team i have ever met. They were crazy welcoming and just generally sincere. I had a blast hanging out with them, and got a feeling of that old school bhangra mentality (from what jasmine was explaining). Easy people to get along with, and very respectable. They earned my respect on and off the stage.
