I don't want to judge whether or not he is guilty. All I know is that his culpability in the incident was in some doubt, since 7 out of 9 witnesses at least partially recanted their testimony after the fact, and that should have been enough to at least postpone the execution again.
As for the death penalty, studies have shown that it's an ineffective deterrent of murder, and while it offers a degree of closure to the victims' families, it's barbaric.
