Folk event in washington DC!!! anybody performing???

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is an international exposition of living cultural heritage annually produced outdoors on the National Mall of the United States in Washington, D.C., by the Smithsonian Institution's Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage. The Festival takes place for two weeks every summer overlapping the Fourth of July holiday. It is an educational presentation that features community-based cultural exemplars. Free to the public, like other Smithsonian museums, each Festival typically draws more than one million visitors.
General Information
The Festival is held outdoors on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between the Smithsonian museums. The Smithsonian station (Mall exit) is at the Festival site. Festival Hours
Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with special events taking place most evenings.

Apparently there was a bhangra/giddha exhibition on the first day last week. I'm also interested in knowing if anyone performed, and furthermore if they recorded it.

according to the e-mail i received, "Introduction Music of Dhol - Folk Drum,Youth Bhangra by DCM, Punjabi Arts,Punjabi Nation Bhangra, Rhythm of Punjab - Giddha Performance,DC Bhangra Crew, DCM Punjabi Arts Bhangra, Dance to the Beats of Dhol,and Continue Dancing with DJ Lucky. "

I know they had a bhangra performance on thursday and a gidha performance on saturday and i think they have more this week as well

DCBC, DCMPAA, PDL, and another Giddha group already performed last week at the Festival!

Thursday evening the stage area was just Giddha/Bhangra performances for 2 hours - people were dancing like craaaazy in the audience too, it was mad fun

haha i just screamed a lot and screamed "BRUAHHHH" like 50 times. after the gidha performance, a white couple that was sitting in front of me asked me why the girls were "running around hitting each other with sandals and stuff"

i was like hahah umm it's a girl's folk punjabi dance they said it was ballerrr
