harjot, or whoever is editing gtv nowadays, can you guys please chill with the strobe effects and quick cuts? it doesnt add to the viewing of the video, and makes it harder for people to follow. i understand you want to make it visually appealing, but its not mtv, and people want to be able to appreciate the performance itself. my two cents, and thanks for doing it!

Sulman,

One of the biggest reasons why videos look so good on GTV is because harjot tries his best to edit out the mistakes of dancers or formations, etc. Thats why there are cuts in the video...based on his schedule it would be way easier to just post the raw hd video but he takes time out to edit them so team's performances look better. Its not just a random strobe effect hahaha

oh damn i never knew that. Big ups to harjot for taking his time to do that. but i don't know if doing that is a good or bad thing...it's good bcuz it makes it visually appealing but bcuz then u can't really see what a dancer/team needs to work on

I think that's really bias. Performance videos should be shown from one angle and be able to see any mess ups that happen. If we watch a video that doesn't show "what really happened" or show "those things that are only good" then how are we suppose to really see what that team's performance truly is?

If you actually talked about this with Harjot personally and he told you that was the case then my bad, but I don't think he really does that to edit out all the mistakes. I do remember seeing as mistake from the one of teams in one of GTV's videos. I can see where you're coming from with him trying to make the video look clean, but I don't think he watches the video and looks for all the mistakes in order to edit them out.

I'm pretty sure Harjot doesnt cover up the mistakes... if he did, then man, some of those teams f"ed up a lot...

If Harjot does do that, props and thank you's to him for his time and thoughtfulness and effort!

I can see it as good in ways, b/c no matter how much we want to get critiqued and improve -- I mean a team always wants to look good and have a video they can be proud of especially if they are new, Harjot can give that to them on GabrooTV. Because what if a team just wants to show their family and friends, or use parts to audition for things or show potential sponsors, etc. You'd wanna look as good as you can in those cases.

On the other hand, what everyone else is saying holds tons of weight too I mean BTF-types should be able to compare raw performances to each other and if you want critique then you gotta get it from a plain vid. Someone can put up an uncut regular video on youtube, or perhaps he can upload in another section "raw videos". Strobe effect and whatnot sure yeah he could cut down, but I like seeing closeups and different views when you just watchin' for fun.

Actually i think Harjot does edit out the mistakes for example: Heeray Punjab De @ DDA 2008
at 2:50 the dancer in the red and yellow on the right dropped his khunda but Harjot tried his best to edit it out as much as he could
