Thanks for the heads-up mate.

I think we need a NEW forum for posting links to websites, whether they are for buying props, contacting costume makers, downloading music or links to competitions. What do you think, Saleem?

I agree w. kinnell, the video posts and website links belong somewhere else like how they have a mixes section. It is getting too cluttered to find discussions and topics in the main bhangra discussion.

Would it be more helpful to have it in a more traditional-website layout, rather than a forum with posts?

That's always a good possibility, Saleem. But you can also have a forum for links and have a few threads with "Team Websites", "Prop Vendors", "Music Mixing Online Tutorials", "Costume Websites"..etc. When someone finds a good website, they can simply reply to the thread and one of the mods can edit it into the thread.

That way, someone who is looking for props can find a list of sites as well as someone who made a music mixing tutorial or a turle starching tutorial (*cough* Sulman *cough*) can simply post it in the correct thread. It's instant database.

Just a suggestion.

I definitely understand where you're coming from, but the complaint would be that BTF is too segmented, it's impossible to keep track of all posts, I don't want to go through 10 boards, etc. I know they have the 'recent' posts options, but I also know people will get frustrated..

Yea but segmentation for the sake of organization kind of increases convenience, IMHO. If you have a section for "Shopping", you could have anyone post listings for places they buy from, contact info's, w/e. That even creates a location where people could sell things on their own to some extent: SOmeone wants to build/sell saaps on their own, obtain a vendor status,etc. Then at the top you could have a sticky thread containing nothing more than one post with a list organized as such:

Outfits
BhangraOutfits.com: www.bhangraoufits.com; 1800XXXXXXX.

Props
Bhangra Props.com: www.bhangraprops.com; 1800

I think you get the idea. I mean not only does that organize material, it creates a new environment for marketing bhangra supplies. So if i start making saaps again, i can start selling em! lol. just a really rough idea, obviously would need work. Kinnell's idea would work as well, but this way you avoid segmentation. Having just a category to shop. If you ask me though, things like mixing tutorials and starching should just be links, maybe even sticky's, in the Main Bhangra Discussion category.
