Hey everyone! This is our performance from this past weekend. Want to give a couple big shoutouts first though. First and foremost shoutout to everyone that came to support us from OSU. It was so hype with all of you there and it would've been half the experience if we didn't have all of you supporting us. Second shoutout to Jayveer Sodiwal (aka the manager of the century) and our reserve dancers. Third one goes out to Simer Dholi, it isn't the same performing without you playing. Fourth one goes out to Money (Mr. Mankiran on BTF ;) ) for tying some amazing paghs and chaadre. Last one goes out to DJ Sunlite who made an awesome mix for us! Thank you so much for working with us dude. Actually go checkout his soundcloud page SunliteSoundz; dude is a baller. This was really a full team effort and I want to thank you guys for everything.

As for the competition, everyone was filthy. NJ fucking murdered it as always. FCB was nuts. SMD put on a beautiful set. And I could go on about everyone else as well. I am so happy that we got to go to a competition of this caliber. A huge learning experience for sure and I hope that we can keep competing at this level.

We would REALLY appreciate critiques on the video. We got some good feedback from judges but we would love to hear what the community thought. In general we weren't the cleanest and I am well aware that our ending jumps were whack but if you guys have any major critiques on form, choreo, and formations I would love to hear them.

Also for all you kids out there trying to learn how to perform with some sick nakhre, just watch our light blue guy Akash Patel (the legendary Guju superstar) when our Dholi is doing the shair. Also shoutout to our yellow girl Sundeepti Jindal for taking a nap after the set ended. Dopest gimmick of 2015.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_iK-ySHSs8&index=4&list=PLjf_DGHT8GMt_UpSbq5-XBKMKdh4S9CN6

Performers:
Karam Tatla (The sexy jhummar man) & Sheena Kothari - Red
Nimit Desai & Payal Patel - Dark Blue
Akash Patel & Priyanka Ram - Light Blue
Chandni Shah & Mankiran Singh - Black
Harshil Patel & Sundeepti Jindal - Yellow
Eric Singh & Manisha Nezhad - Purple

Hope to see all you guys at future comps (except NJ Warriors, they probably won't perform for like another year lol)!

I really enjoyed this set! There are so many improvements from last year, everything from form, to energy, to complexity. I watched this video a few times over and I am still entertained every time. I thought the Fulka segment hit really hard, especially the way the red jodi executes it.

If there is one segment that I thought needs work the most, it is your Khunde segment. That segment does not hit very hard, it looks like it was just put in there. If you work in a stronger drop then it would be really sick but it is sort of anti climatic. Good luck for the rest of the year, I really hope UMD gets to compete against you all this year

One of my favorite collegiate teams to watch, Karam and Chandni y'all killed it.

Here are a few critiques I jotted down watching the video:

-form was lacking in the khunde segment with the way kichchan is done
-khunde aren't all pointing straight up. not everyone on the team is holding the khunde the same way
-the end jumps, but you already mentioned that
-really liked the creativity with some of the saap moves and khunde moves. i think some of the formations could be more aesthetically pleasing/more creative. individual nakhra was sick, loved it
-also work on making your choreo and formations so that you can do moves into new formations
-make sure everyone keeps their legs up cause one or two of the dancers aren't really moving their legs towards the end
-tiredness ends up showing on some peoples' faces, make sure they never show it even if they are tired
overall, I think you guys have improved a fuck ton since last year, just make your sets new and unique with choreo creativity, formation creativity, and more gimmicks.

Quick thoughts:

Song selection:
You guys used a lot of songs that I've heard other teams use over the past 3-4 years, but didn't put as much of a twist on them as I would've liked. I think it's okay to reuse songs, but as soon as I hear a song I've heard before, I immediately think of that team (you used some songs that BK, FCB, and CMU have used in that past). If you decide to reuse songs, really make them your own so people don't associate them with anyone except you.

Energy:
Dropped near the end with some dancers, but I also saw really great energy at points in the set (people in the middle for phummaniya, blue guy whenever I was watching him), so keep that up. Try to pace yourself if you need to, but also just work on building up stamina.

Ending:
It was a little messy, especially the transition of putting your arms up on the people next to you.

Set:
Overall, I was pretty impressed with the choreography. I thought it was generally creative, had some really smooth sequences, and I enjoyed watching it. That being said, I don't think I saw any formations really interested or wowed me; I thought the jhummar silence walk thing was pretty cool though. Incorporating more interesting formations into your set moving forward would improve the set a lot, and would probably help to complement the choreography even more.

These comments are by no means complete or comprehensive; they're just things I noticed when I watched. If you want some more critiques, feel free to message me.

Hey homies!
I see a couple of new faces since the last time I saw you guys on stage.
Here are just some general thoughts I had while watching the set
-Energy lagged a lot between dancers in the front and the back-in a stage like Burgh's, I feel like its awfully easy to see people taking breaks in the back
-Choreo was cool-but seemed to have been choreoed by one or two people-a lot of the drops had a similar style with an "off-beat" kick out or something like that-which starts to take away from the creativity.
-I loved how you guys took a relative risk with the choreo given the fact that as a collegiate team theres a higher chance of having inexperienced dancers esp with a comp as early as Burgh. The downside of this riskier choreo is execution-execution was great among your top jodis but lacking in the more inexperienced/weaker jodis-this made for a lot of sloppiness as choreo got tougher
-In contrast, I dont think you guys took nearly enough risks in terms of formations and segment design. Felt like no formation or movement in a segment really stood out to me-outside of the jhoomer walk (That was hawwwttt). I can understand that maybe you guys toned it down in terms of formations to put on at least a clean performance for Burgh with all the time constraints-but for a future comp, if you guys have the time, i think you can totally amp up the formations and set design.

If you would like to talk in depth about the set-just message me-i'd be glad to help out!

You guys have gotten 10x better since last year. A huge step. Better form, better choreo, and the vardiyan look good (IDK about the back of the vests tho lol).

Here are my thoughts on the performance:
-There were points in the performance I found flat. After the props and jhoomer the pace becomes stagnant and lacks change until ending.
-I liked the jhoomer thing were the guys and girls separate
-Personally not a big fan of slower paced daang segments, but you guys hit a majority of those moves with power.
-Nimit good shit on your performance. You have gotten a lot better. There were points were you went really hard and it looked good and other points were it looked out of place. Also you and pratik from MBT look like twins.
-Work on prop drops. Those were a little off and squats tended to popcors with some people standing up while others were down.

The step you guys took from last year is huge. I like that we got good collegiate competition in the midwest with you and MOB.

Don't usually post but just wanted to say that this performance was fantastic. Burgh was a tough comp this year so don't let placings discourage you. If you guys keep on your current trajectory since Blowout you will hands down be the collegiate team to beat this year (imo). Agree with most of the feedback on this thread, if the captains would like additional critiques just pm me.

Excited to see what happens when you guys face UNC this year (get em yesh)

watched this once already, but wanted to comment properly after I finished my paper haha.

The saap segment is fire. Cleanliness and energy can both be improved as well as synchronization, but the kick out right before the jaandhu sangh with the blue guy in the center was dirttyyy. The body language and facial expression of girls excluding the one girl in red throughout the segment created a vibe of "unease." not finishing moves, looking around, smiles fading -- with that being fixed this team through just facials can dominate a comp

3:34 where y'all walk away with no sound was badass going into the josh jhoomer where the guys and girls separate. Red, Nimit i believe is a monster. expressions, grace, seems like a great performer and fully in charge with everything he does.

Eric you kill it throughout, first time watching you on video, but don't lose your smile homie. I have a bad habit of this too, but you seem to breathe out throughout the routine and sometimes look really pissed off :p for parts wit works, but just be aware where and when you'll do it.

Another big thing I noticed is modhe, starts off decently, but just fades out. Bhangra without that shoulder bounce is just not bhangra. keep that in mind, it'll make y'all seem a lot more energetic too.

Phumaniya variation from 4:04 - 4:10 is pretty nice too. I think quite a few people above me already commented on how they loved it. I told Eric when I first saw the video; y'all would've won the comp you dropped out, but I do understand that y'all wanting the burgh experience over a small first time comp.

Expecting big things from this team after this video, good luck guys!

Our red jodi is Karam Tatla but I will definitely pass along the compliment! Thanks for the feedback man

exceeded expectations, huge improvements. great job
something to consider: symmetry in formations (i.e. having random jodi colors in formations) i know its hard to explain pm if you have questions
