Lol same could be said about "Chitte Suit Te" By Geeta Zaildar. Such an obvious double entendre.GSingh said:its a dirty song... "fly me like a kite"
Basim said:It's a bit confusing because the lyrics go something like "guddi wangu aaj menu sajna" which standing independently to me would mean something like "dress me up like a doll today," but after that the lyrics go "udayi ja, udayi jai, udiya ja" meaning "fly me, fly me, fly me."
So in context overall, it makes more sense if you substitie kite for doll.. because then it's saying something like "make me beautiful like a kite.. fly me, fly me, fly me."
It all sounds funny when translated into English which is why explaining to non-desis (or those not familiar with any Indo-Aryan languages) is such a challenge.

Ahhh, yes! Thanks for the clarification GSingh. Sajana is used for "to get decorated," so that's where my confusion was. For example in the phrase ghodi sajana - to decorate the horse (for a wedding). I was mispronouncing the original word, hence my translation was all messed up. lol.GSingh said:Basim said:It's a bit confusing because the lyrics go something like "guddi wangu aaj menu sajna" which standing independently to me would mean something like "dress me up like a doll today," but after that the lyrics go "udayi ja, udayi jai, udiya ja" meaning "fly me, fly me, fly me."

Where the trouble with your interpretation lies is the word "sajna", which you're saying means "dress me" but that would be "sajaa" meaning to decorate. Sajna simply means like.. o beloved one.. so she's saying (word for word): Like a kite, today, o my lover, keep flying me, keep flying me, keep flying me.
