haha why don't you test it out yourself to see "how it sounds" lolll Im sure you can distinguish between AMAZING sound and mediocre stock speakers for a ford or something haha.Sukhi said:hey guys...iam buying a new car and it has HK Sound ...i was wondering if anyone else has this and can give me a little info on how it sounds.....thanks!!!!
Yeah, sound is just one of those things...it depends on the user as well. HKs aren't close to the JLs you might find...but they are a solid speaker set. They've been around for a while, and they stood the test of time. Listen to them carefully, then compare to others.Meistro said:haha why don't you test it out yourself to see "how it sounds" lolll Im sure you can distinguish between AMAZING sound and mediocre stock speakers for a ford or something haha.Sukhi said:hey guys...iam buying a new car and it has HK Sound ...i was wondering if anyone else has this and can give me a little info on how it sounds.....thanks!!!!
congrats... did you play with the eq settings thru idrive? you have soo much tweaking power it will blow you away... be careful with extreme volume though, i had to replace the l7 amp and ask kontroller in my bmw multiple times due to pushing the system hard... nontheless, it is one of the best sounding factory setups ive ever heard....Sukhi said:so i test drove the car...HK sounds amazing...thanx for all the help...oh btw i bought the car its BMW 525i
+1 great info.Underground Gabroo said:Bose is nothing more than an over-rated name... Plain and simple... Having close ties with the auto industry, I can say that the majority of the time a "Bose" system is advertised, it's not really bose components at all... Furthurmore, even with these factory premium systems having the Bose badge, they will use paper materials for their woofer and midrange drivers, as well as cheap paper based tweeters...
Harmon Kardon, on the other hand, actually uses higher quality materials to produce their components... Above all is Bowers and Wilkins, but these are only available in select vehicles for a hefty price...
Keep in mind, most high end cars such as BMW and Mercedes Benz use something called a MOST Bus for audio transport... MOST stand for "Media Oriented System Transport" and carries only audio/video data in a fiber optic ring, similar to old coaxial networks back in the 10baset days where all computers had to be connected in a "ring" ... So, what does this mean? It means everything is proprietary and can't be changed out... What's me point? Upgrade to premium audio while you can otherwise you will regret it later...
If it's a BMW, HK's Logic 7 is awesome... System consists of true surround sound creation using THX quality components...
