Has the Creativity of Mixes gone down?

Ok, so ever since the DBI beat was released a while back (forgot who posted it), i feel like the creativity in mixes has gone down. For example, some teams use the beat in 4 or 5 different songs, and it gets boring.....I know for a fact that the people who make the mixes can do amazing without the beat....
now, im not saying that we shouldnt use it to enhance our mixes...once or twice doesnt hurt (if its used properly). Im not criticizing anyone, just asking for opinions...plus, i was a victim of using and abusing the beat too :p

this has been on my mind for a while now, so i thought id ask....

so what do you guys think?

It's not that creativity has gone down... btf has just been flooded with a bunch of people who throw a dhol loop (DBI) behind a brand new song, call it a remix, and ask for thoughts. Thats just my opinion, i don't listen to 50% of stuff anymore because its all like that.

well said!

the DBI cheat beat/ Nav Saraos Mirza Dhad Cheat Beat/ Romy Gills Dhol Vajda cheat beat

three things that once I hear them in a mix, I just turn it off lol unless its justified in its placing like a song that actually needs it.. I say this because I used the romy gill in the nypd mix chicka set.. but I did it properly as in you dont even know that it came from dhol vajda.. the power of FL (L) :)

once i heard a remix that incorporated all three of those.. I almost died

Hmmm...I'm not a DJ by any means but I wouldn't be surprised that there are a few DJs (most likely not on BTF) who are committed to using their own, fresh material...I guess maybe we're all just hearing the "mainstream" stuff here on BTF? And I guess this shared DBI beat is perhaps a result of all the communication phenomenon post-BTF? who knows...

As long as one team's mix doesn't sound like the next team's (regardless of a shared beat), then I think it's okay, right?
