Hey everyone
I am a university student in the UK and I recently joined this forum. It's been really interesting to read what peoples' views are on UK bhangra and I agree with a lot of it - there's a lot of room for improvement, particularly making things more traditional and less for entertainment purposes only. Hopefully UK bhangra can make steps forward in the future, particularly with advice from you guys in the US and Canada.
I think everyone knows that UK bhangra is far behind compared to overseas and that's what drives most teams to copy formations, moves etc from what they see on youtube - almost trying to prove to ourselves that we have the potential to be as good as the US and Canadian teams. I'm not saying that justifies copying other teams but may be an explanation for it.
Bhangra will undoubtedly increase in popularity in the UK over the next decade and as it does, I hope that we can get some 100% original UK routines going up against US and/or Canadian teams!
Thank you for everyone's feedback, I'll be sure to pass it on to my team mates!
