I hate to always sound like the party-pooper... but having studied Japanese culture for a few years in high school, this is commonplace in the metropolitan areas during rush-hour on workdays...but it's still funny nonetheless... I'm pretty sure those guys pushing them into the train are actually platform managers of some sort, and pushing people into the train (in a polite manner, of course) is part of their everyday jobs. The people riding the train are aware that they might be pushed in. Luckily I've never ridden the Japanese subway system during rush-hour...or in any metropolitan area...I've only ridden the subway from the Tokyo airport to a small town and I've also ridden the bullet train (soooo smooooothhh...)...
