I have some performances on bhangra competition dvd's that I would like to cut out and put on my computer. How do I go about doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ummm, I'm not exactly sure. But what I have a program that's called Camtasia Studio. What this does is it records everything on you're screen. What i would do is play the part of the video you want to put on, and record it with Camtasia. That's the only way I know how to do it, unless someone knows an easier way.

can you save the dvd as wmv? or as any video file on ur computer...if you can then just open the video file into your windows movie maker and you can easily makes clips in there and put em together

what you need to do is

1- rip the DVD using some sort of software (i.e dvdcopyer, dvdripper)

2- use the .wmv file and open it in either adobe premier (if you have it) or simply windows movie maker will work.
3- Select the part you want to save...split that part from the entire clip by simply right clicking and "Split at cursor" (just make sure you have put the cursor the correct frame.
4- EXPORT the clip as a .wmv

if you still need help...bring the badboy over to my house and i'll do it for you! =]

umm the easiest method i've found is (works if the dvd is un-ecrypted *not protected*)

you go into the dvd and look inside at the folder usually theres a VIDEO_TS folder or somethin along those lines,
double-click on the folder and inside you should see a bunch of files. Look for files with the extension .VOB I believe and copy and paste them to your destination folder. Once you've done that just rename them to the extension .avi
simple as that.

oh to add I usually use Windows Movie Maker to split my movies lol its already on your comp (if you have windows) and is easy to use (down part is it takes awhile for the movie to convert and it converts to wmv)

thats exactly what i do. i dont think bhangra competitions will have encrypted dvds but i could be wrong. basically when you put the dvd in your computer, go to My Computer and right click on the DVD icon and click "Open" instead of "play." then you can view all these files, and yeah, anything ending in .VOB is what you drag to desktop or wherever.
