How to go from fast to slow songs in a mix?

I'm trying to make a mix for when I perform at my friend's party and I'm using Morni as a fast saap segment and then like a minute into the song I'm trying to slow it down for a few seconds, but the pitch of the voice and everything clearly sound slower when I want to try and blend it in a lot better. Like I'm using SGPD's AVAP '08 mix as like a frame of comparison and their slow segment blends much better. Anyone have some advice?

And I posted my mix so you guys can see what I'm talking about. The slow part is at 00:53.

I think theres a thing in acid, where u can like slow the tempo down gradually, kind of beat blending up to the point of returning to natural bpm. You can also try doing that portion in Mixmeister, which works well too. But obviously if ur going from like 130 bpm to like 80 bpm....u might want to consider some other method of transitioning, maybe something more abrupt, some dialogue perhaps, to avoid the whole slowing down drastically feeling

yea, both mixcraft and acid 7.0 have 'tempo markers' where you can set bpm for segments of the song. Just add tempo markers for the places you want to change. They have the same transitions as audio (fast, slow, linear, etc)

acid 7.0 is sweet

Oh ok sick thanks a lot everyone, I'll try that out. And Harman thanks too, that clip is pretty much along the lines of what I'm going for. I've been using a somewhat old version of Acoustica which works very well while still being really simple and easy to use.

Now all I need to learn is how to properly use Acid Pro because I have a lot of trouble doing even simple song cuts on that program, but I'll look around for some tutorials and stuff. Thanks again everyone..

If you're trying to transition from a bhangra beat to a jhummar beat, you could try doing it by putting an extended torha in between. Torhas are how transitions are traditionally done, and they are just cool to hear IMO. 8)

Example: 3:50 - 4:00

hey, sorry but i'm not sure about acid pro or mixcraft but on virtualdj or on numark cue, they have a feature called KeyLock and it keeps it clean when you use various bpm's. ill post up a sample tommorrow morning of how it works. it sound's pretty clean when it's used properly.

what i use is pretty basic and simple program called atomixmp3 for slowing down songs. it has a simple pitch meter tht u can jus click on and see how fast/slow u wan it and than another simple click to make it go bak to normal speed right away.

idk it jus sounds better n works for me.. theirs a example attached below on how it sounds when using this program.

the slowing down part is at 0:42 seconds.

enjoy!
