It seems that they're gaining popularity and will soon be the thing to have! What do you think?

I love Manjot's WPD one - that's hot!

Re: Animated Avatars?

They're sweet but they get distracting and annoying when they are not smooth in the repeat. Like Jabar yours flashes black for second when the clip is restarting - if it didn't do that then it would be smooth. Arjun's too I believe, it isn't smooth so it looks bad. If you guys could fix that they'd be sweeet

1. Get a clip of a video.
2. Go to www.gifninja.com or http://www.gifninja.com/ConvertVideoToGif.aspx
3. Upload your video.
4. Done!

Re: Animated Avatars?

Animated avatars are off the chain. They should definitely be smooth and not annoying.

I like Manjot's WPD one the best so far.

how do you make one, again?
The easiest way for me is Adobe Premiere Pro, make a short clip and save it as a gif file (there is an option to do so). If I remember correctly, only gifs can be animated not jpegs. I'm sure there are easier ways, but you have to make sure that a) file size is not too huge to be uploaded here b) quality isn't too atrocious.

I agree they look sick. Manjot's is the best and Sarbjit's is second best. How do you guys get it to be so smooth? mine always end up being jerky.

Re: Animated Avatars?

wut I did was take my video file and put it in windows movie maker...then cut up the clip I wanted it to repeat...then test it out if it would be smooth enough or close enuf...then save it to your computer as a WMV file
then i used a converter to turn into AVI format then another converter to turn it to GIF format lol (couldn't find a direct converter)
then upload the GIF image on photobucket and use it as a direct link =D
I made Arjun's tooo!
