Hi everyone,
On August 15th, the Newport Association, in association with BAI Music
Productions present India’s Independence Summer Concert. Located in
Jersey City, NJ, this is a free outdoor event to celebrate India’s
Independence and promote Indian culture. This event draws almost one
thousand people from the Tri-State area.
The Newport Association would like to request performances by both
Bhangra and Fusion teams for the event. This event should prove a
great opportunity for teams to showcase their talent to a large crowd,
as well as help support Indian culture in th
e community. Each team will
perform three times over the course of three hours (the same routine is
fine), and it is suggested that teams limit the number of performers
due to stage size.
The Newport Association is also looking for a band to play for the
event. This band will be asked to play Bollywood music for a 30 minute
period.
All the teams and the band will be reimbursed $300 and will also be
given food vouchers for the day of the performance. We are on a very
short schedule, so if teams are interested, please email me at
udas1@binghamton.edu so that I could forward you a short application
form and I am also asking for a short sample video.
