I noticed a lot of groups like ' Save our Sikh Sisters' are popping up. They are basically groups that are taking a stand against Pakistani men who use trickery to seduce Sikh women and essentially convert, kidnap, or violate them. They post all these nasty stories about how Muslim Pakistani Boy 'A' seduced Sikh girl 'B' and converted her. Than he tricked her into coming to Pakistan where she was used as a prostitute.

Anyways I keep seeing these on Facebook and all these 'testimonials' of these various Sikh girls. However none of these actual girls who have experienced these things are actually putting up these stories themselves.

So if you are from the U.K., can you tell me in the most unbiased manner, whether this is really a big problem in England? If it is , why aren't the Sikh and Desi Muslim communities working together to fix it? Or is it possible that this is just random propaganda being spread on the web?

Well I'm a pakistani muslim from the UK, i first heard about this stuff on facebook too. I've never personally witnessed or heard about anything like this myself before reading about it on facebook and I live in the one of the most muslim populated cities in the uk. I don't know if it is true or not but its bad either way. It may well be in response to websites made by some young (calling themselves but not particularly) muslim young men claiming they are going to go out and "shag and convert every sikh girl they can." I don't know the legitimacy of these websites or any of the claims being made. So I don't know what to tell you to be honest. There's just a lot more racism between muslims and other religions in general here sadly, may be down to that, may be down to what these people are claiming. I really don't know.

I was in the UK a year ago, and I remember hearing these stories. Most of the stories were heresay, and I didn't know how reliable those stories were.

There was a documentary of sorts that came out a year ago about this very thing, they even screened this video in various gurdwaras. I remember sitting in some discussions about this, and I met one or two girls that dealt with this.

And there was a site called Sikh 4 a Week that made its entire premise about having sex with sikh girls and converting them to islam. It was a very disturbing site, and it was recently removed by google as it violated numerous rules on blogspot.
