wow wtf?!!! that scene from inside man is disturbing. the audacity with which they just ripped that pagh off was so disgraceful. i never understood why for every scene that punjabi's are viewed in a good light there are always 10 other scenes that show them as jokes.

damn i can't believe that actually happened in a denzel movie.

I am pretty sure Bhangra has disrespected Pughs more than bollywood, hindi songs, or whatever have you. Yeah this is ignroant, but I ask you, what is more ignorant? When others act in this manner, or when your own people marginalized and reduce your identity...

i think it's great that it happened in a denzel movie. it showed reality. in the next scene, waris ahluwalia (the sikh) explained sikhism to denzel washington...it showed millions of people who we are.

bhangra definitely does not disrespect the pagh like bollywood....lol r u serious? thats one of the dumbest things i've heard. bhangra def. does in some aspects, but in other aspects it lifts the pagh up high (ex. tigerstyle), whereas in bollywood the pagh is something that is laughed at.

Your post was the dumbest thing I have ever read. So you have people who are wearing pughs saying that drinking is acceptable. That sikhs should drink, objectify women, and act like an idiot with a drink in their hand. Pugh walay mock our own kind. You think because bollywood sits there and protrays sikhs with pughs as jokers, or goofy iswhat is really dangerous? How about people who wake up in the morning, tie a pugh that Guru Gobind Singh Ji said is our identity, is our representation of our religion, and sing loud about how we should intoxicate and how we act stupid when drunk.

Intoxication is one of the most ultimate sins in sikhi, and for a sikh to WEAR a pugh and encourage it, is a slap in the face of sikhs everywhere. I know Bhangra is the only thing that a lot of you guys have in your life that separates you from the mass majority, but its an ignorant to think that we should divulge the responsibility to those outside our community to represent ourselves right.

Dont get too excited, stick to your bhangra, leave issues like that to people who care about. Desi jatt nu valaati daru charee gaye hoon gulliyaa chh koomda... yeah bollywood is the industry that mocking sikhs right? Calm down, back to dancing.

As a Sikh, I am not at all offended by the Inside Man clip. Sikhs do get profiled by the police and the movie shows exactly that. If you look at the next scene, the Sikh actor makes that exact statement to Denzel when he says that I am being profiled everywhere I go. The movie just highlighted that fact to the general public. More clips like that could help prevent shit like this from happening:

racism is bullshit. especially when people who have nothing to do with it are accused as well.

there was a poster put up in my hallway in my dorm the past week listing possible "disguises" for osama bin laden. it had a picture of a pakistani girl on the hallway (who thought the joke was hillarious), a picture of gas staion owner in the simpsons, and a Sikh person wearing a pag. i ripped them all down.

You just hate bhangra and you try to find the littlest things to say bhangra is disgrace to everything. Ok, you're saying
"So you have people who are wearing pughs saying that drinking is acceptable. That sikhs should drink, objectify women, and act like an idiot with a drink in their hand. Pugh walay mock our own kind. You think because bollywood sits there and protrays sikhs with pughs as jokers"

What ever you just said has nothing to do with bhangra...your talking about singers singing and i don't think it's the same as people dancing on stage and i've never heard any team EVER sing about daru or disrespecting jananiya on stage. If you find anything like that please post it, i'd apologize to you and leave BTF.

Talking about bollywood, are you serious, you're saying real Bhangra dancers disrespect Sikhism more than bollywood does. please brother. i think you should just relax about the whole bhangra vs sikhism topic. Majority of us will never agree with you. It's been argued in the past and the answers are not going to change.
