Isolating vocals+best isolation software

Yo,


Just wondering if anyone knows how to isolate vocals on sony acid pro 7? I've been trying but you need the Sony Vocal Eraser VST plugin which my version doesn't seem to have and I can't seem to locate it online - is there any other way?

If not, which software do you guys recommend for that process? And anyone recommend any other good mixing softwares apart from acid pro for Windows?

Keep in mind, I'm a beginner in mixing lol

there simply isn't any good way to isolate vocals from a mixed-down production track. there's a reason why official remixes of songs almost always have access to the separate masters.


you can, however, turn down the frequencies of the bass and stuff relatively easy.


find the freq range that the vocals of your track are primarily in, and then just drop everything else.

Look into M/S eqing as well. You'll notice majority of vocals are center.
Reverb and distortion canl also help mask some of instruments (be very careful about using it though, it can make it sound messy).
