Itouch problem

hey guys, so I have a first gen itouch and i've encountered a problem. When I try to put certain videos on it (not steaming), I get an error msg saying my itouch cannot play them. This has particularly happened with GTV videos as well as some hockey videos. A similarity in both videos is that they are both in HD. Maybe my itouch isnt capable of playing HD (youtube ripped) videos? Another factor I've trying looking into is that, I just updated my itunes software which and as a result reversed the jailbreak that was on my itouch. These HD videos worked when my itouch was jailbroken. Any help or insight would be appreciated

Its most likely corrupt software due to the previous jailbreak... Do a restore via itunes and reinstall the OS... The type of video should have no effect as far as I am aware provided they are in proper mp4 format...

you should never update a jailbroken phone or ipod etc. Always restore first, then update and re-jailbreak or whatever it is you want to do. If there is no up to date jailbreak for the software then don't update until it becomes available, usually only takes a month or two at most.

it didn't fix the problem...it's so weird because I'm able to put all other videos on my itouch except for the two Mentioned. Hmmm....

HD video streaming screws up on iphones, so I'm assuming it could be the same with itouches. However, I have an iphone 3G, not the latest 3GS....

So, it could be that you have an older itouch or software on it?

Overall, I've heard and personally experienced horrendous quality of youtube vids on the iphone, especially since I just checked out GTV on my iphone yesterday and every dancer on stage was made out of about 10 colored squares bouncing around.

what are SD videos? The videos that work, that I have on the itouch are aither MOV or MP4. The videos I am trying to put on there are also MP4.

the thing is, I don't stream the videos, I actually rip the videos and put them into the "movies" playlist so I dont have to stream them if I dont have internet or wifi
