Well here in bhangra, no teams give speeches to thank whoever, thats all done on this forum. No ones allowed to give thank yous after a competition, so yeah randomly grabbing the mic from the mc would be a little odd. But here after competition results are posted, my opinion is its kind of the winning teams time to shine the same way, criticizing saying the placings were wrong is taking away from the teams glory as well. I mean if there was an ACTUAL bias, like one of the judges were affiliated with a team in a certain way then yeah by all means they should bring it up on here, but if there isn't i think its the exact same thing Kanye did.

And as for this specific situation, maybe im wrong but dont they rehearse these things before hand? With Kanye's past record, if this wasnt staged, why would security let kanye on stage, when there one job is to not let anyone on stage that isnt supposed to be at that moment. If that wasn't staged i think that looks as bad on Kanye's part as it does the organizers of the VMA's because things like this are not that hard to prevent.

I just don't think there is a comparison to posting your complaints about judging on a website to actually bringing it up during the actual awards/competitions.

As to whether it was rehearsed, I have no idea..it may have been..but it didn't appear that Taylor Swift knew that was going to happen. If it was rehearsed...what a dumb spoof...

I kinda agree, but kinda don't. There's a difference. On a public forum, everyone's entitled to their own opinion (however wrong it may be). So if one team wins over another that shouldn't have (happens all the time), they at least have that night and those pictures with the trophy and/or check to have their moment. Sad how it only lasts from the time they win the award to the time news hits BTF... all of 3 minutes and 4 seconds. Also, while a lot of people in the circuit might read BTF, not a lot of people who attend shows read BTF. We read it to keep up with the trends, stay in touch with friends, etc. etc. But when one person posts on BTF that one team should have won over another-it doesn't have the effect that it would in person, on stage, as the winning team is holding the trophy in hand and the competition is broadcast to a million + homes all over the world.

Kanye/Taylor thing was different. Kanye, with no affiliation to Beyonce at all, LITERALLY got up on stage AS SHE WAS HOLDING THE TROPHY, MAKING HER SPEECH, IN HER BEAUTIFUL GOWN. Kanye literaly made a public display out of Taylor and embarrassed her in front of her family, in front of her friends, and in front of her fans. There was NOTHING left for her to say on stage-no more "thank yous," no more "i would like to thank the fans," no outlet to defend herself (difference between that moment and a moment on BTF), and no one to defend her. That's it-the moment's over in a matter of 10 seconds. She won't even have the pictures-because they'll be overshadowed by the pictures of her standing there feeling like crying. She was just left there, looking beautiful, with a trophy that now half of the world doesn't think she deserves... and now a whole lot of phone/radio/TV interviews that she will be forced to do by her publicist as part of plan "damage control."
